"La Luz" ( en, The Light) is a song written and performed by the Colombian singer-songwriter Juanes, released as the lead single from his sixth studio album '' Loco de Amor'' (2014) on December 16, 2013. The song was produced by the American producer Steve Lillywhite. The music video for the song was directed by Jessy Terrero and filmed in Cartagena. An alternate version of the song featuring Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte was also released. Background After the success for his second live album, MTV Unplugged (2012), the singer decided get back to the studio. In 2000, his solo debut album ''Fíjate Bien'' won three Latin Grammy Awards. Juanes has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide. Raised in Colombia, Juanes began playing piano at age two. When Juanes was 17, he started his first band, Ekhymosis, in 1988, which went on to release eight albums, achieving recognition in his native country of Colombia. Latin Pop Airplay (also referred to as Latin Pop Songs) is a record chart published on ''Billboard'' magazine and a subchart of the Latin Airplay chart. The chart focuses on Latin pop music, namely Spanish-language pop music. It was established by the magazine on October 8, 1994 as a subchart of the Hot Latin Songs chart until October 2012 when the Hot Latin Songs changed its methodology. Geoffrey Royce Rojas (born May 11, 1989), known professionally as Prince Royce, is an American singer. At an early age, Royce took an interest in music, and in his teenage years began experimenting with music and writing poetry. By age nineteen, Royce met Andrés Hidalgo, who became his manager. Hidalgo later introduced Royce to record producer Sergio George, who immediately signed him to his label after hearing three of his demos.
