Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons in the Cook Islands face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Homosexuality is illegal for men in the Cook Islands (but the law is not enforced), though female homosexual acts are legal. Same-sex marriage is outlawed.
