L.A. Wolves FC is an American amateur soccer club based in Torrance, California. They are named after the Los Angeles Wolves who played in the United Soccer Association in 1967 and in the North American Soccer League in 1968. The club features its Men's Pro Development first team, L.A. Wolves FC (United Premier Soccer League), and its Youth Academy. History Club owner and UPSL Commissioner Yan Skwara re-launched L.A. Wolves FC in 2014, after taking a number of names for a club into consideration. The club was founded with the aspirations of turning professional in mind. L.A. United Soccer Association
The United Soccer Association was a professional soccer league featuring teams based in the United States and Canada. The league survived only one season before merging with the National Professional Soccer League to form the North American Soccer League. Every team in the league was actually an imported European or South America club, that was then outfitted with a "local" name. Dick Walsh served as the commissioner. Origins In 1966 a group of sports entrepreneurs, led by Jack Kent Cooke and including Lamar Hunt and Steve Stavro, formed a consortium known as the North American Soccer League with the intention of forming a professional soccer league in North America. LA Galaxy, also known as the Los Angeles Galaxy, are an American professional soccer club based in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The Galaxy competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), as a member of the Western Conference. The club began play in 1996 as one of the league's 10 charter members. The Galaxy were founded in 1994 and are owned by Anschutz Entertainment Group (also owners of 50% of the Los Angeles Kings, as well as an interest in the Los Angeles Lakers). Paolo Daniel Cardozo (born June 9, 1989) is an Uruguayan footballer who currently plays for Olympians FC in the United Premier Soccer League. Career Argentina Cardozo started his career with the youth ranks of Argentine power Club Atlético River Plate. After impressing while at River, Cardozo moved to the reserve side of Quilmes. While with Quilmes, Cardozo quickly established himself as one of the top scorers in the highly successful Quilmes reserve side. Eric Boswell Wynalda (born June 9, 1969) is an American soccer coach, television commentator, and retired player. He was formerly an analyst and color commentator for soccer coverage on Fox Sports 1 and ESPN. Previously, he served as head coach and technical director of Las Vegas Lights FC in the USL Championship and he was previously the host of ''WTF: Wynalda Talks Football'' on SiriusXM FC. Mira Costa High School (MCHS, "Costa") is a four-year public high school located in Manhattan Beach, California that first began operating in 1950. It is the only high school in the Manhattan Beach Unified School District. The school's athletic teams are known as the Mustangs and the school colors are green and gold. Mira Costa is located on the corner of Peck Avenue and Artesia Boulevard. History Groundbreaking for the site of the school took place on May 24, 1949 for the first high school in Manhattan Beach.
