Køge Stadium
Køge Stadion is a multi-use stadium in Køge, Denmark. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches and is the home stadium of HB Køge men and HB Køge (women), HB Køge women, and their mother club Køge BK. The stadium used to hold 10,000 people and opened in 1932. After renovation in 2019, it now holds room for 1,000 people seated. Stadium
A stadium ( : stadiums or stadia) is a place or venue for (mostly) outdoor sports, concerts, or other events and consists of a field or stage either partly or completely surrounded by a tiered structure designed to allow spectators to stand or sit and view the event. HB Køge () is a professional Danish football club based primarily in the town of Herfølge, and secondly in the town of Køge, both in the Køge Municipality, part of 'Region of Zealand', in the eastern part of Zealand, south of Copenhagen. It was created through the merger of Herfølge Boldklub and Køge Boldklub in 2009. History The Danish 1st Division club Herfølge Boldklub and bankrupt club Køge Boldklub decided in March 2009 to merge. The club played their first season as a merged club in the 2009–10 season of the Danish Superliga. The season ended in relegation. In the following 1st Division season, they finished second and returned to the Superliga. HB Køge Kvindeelite, commonly known as HB Køge, (previously ''HB Køge Pigefodbold''), is a Danish women's football club based in Køge, Denmark. The club is currently playing in the Elitedivisionen and like the men's team, they play their home matches at the Capelli Sport Stadion. History In January 2020, the club entered into partnership with Capelli Sport and the American Football Academy Slammers FC. The goal for the team is to participate in the UEFA Women's Champions League within five years and in the women's section receive the same terms as the men's team. The former football player and success coach from Brøndby IF Peer Lisdorf, was hired as new head coach for the team. In their first season in the Elitedivisionen, Lisdorf successfully led the club to Champions League qualification for the first time in their history whilst also winning their first top-flight title.
