Käferberg (el. ) and Waidberg (el. ) are the summits of a wooded mountain respectively chain of hills overlooking the inner city of Zürich, Zürichsee, Albis chain and Uetliberg, as well as the Limmat Valley and the Zürcher Unterland in Switzerland. Geography Käferberg (Swiss German: ''Chäferberg'' meaning ''mountain of beetles'') and Waidberg (mountain of meadows) are the peaks of a longish mountain in the north of the Limmat Valley. Affoltern (Zürich)
Affoltern is a quarter in the district 11 in Zürich, located in the Glatt Valley (German: ''Glattal''). History and demographics Affoltern was first mentioned in 870 as ''Affaltrahe'', and in the 9th century it was reigned by the St. Gallen Abbey, in the 12th/13th century by the House of Regensberg who built their ancestral seat '' Altburg'' nearby, followed in 1468 by the city of Zürich as part of the ''Obervogtei Regensberg'' ending in 1798. Albis
The Albis is a chain of hills in the Canton of Zürich, Switzerland, stretching for some 19 km from Sihlbrugg in the south to Waldegg near Zürich in the north. The chain forms, among others, the border between the Affoltern and Horgen districts. The best known point is Uetliberg at 870 m, overlooking the city of Zürich. Other points of interest include the Albishorn (909m.) the Bürglen (also known as Bürglenstutz, the highest peak, 914.6m.), the Schnabelburg, an observation tower, the Albis Pass, the small town of Buechenegg, and the extensive woods (known as the Sihlwald forest) on both sides of the river Sihl. Furttal
Furttal is the name of a valley region in Switzerland between Lägern and Altberg in the Dielsdorf district of the canton of Zurich. The area's name stems from the German word for ford, or ''furt'', and is named after the crossing over the Limmat in the community of Würenlos on the west side of the region. The area is bordered in the east near the community of Regensdorf by the Katzensee lakes. The population of the region is expanding rapidly due to its proximity to city of Zurich and its beautiful landscape. Zürichberg
The Zürichberg is a wooded hill rising to 679 m (2,228 feet), overlooking Lake Zürich and located immediately to the east of the city of Zürich, Switzerland, between the valleys of the Limmat and the Glatt rivers. Its highest point is about 270 metres above the Limmat and it is part of a chain of hills, such as Käferberg, Adlisberg, Forch and Pfannenstiel, between the Greifensee/Glattal and Lake Zürich. It is a picturesque location, and the lower western side of the hill is now part of the residential district of Zürich. The Zürich Zoo and FIFA's headquarters are located on the Zürichberg as well. There are grand mansions on the roads up the hill, and it is also the location of restaurants and hotels. The upper part of the hill is mostly woodland and a popular recreational area.
