Kungsträdgården ( Swedish for "King's Garden") is a park in central Stockholm, Sweden. It is colloquially known as ''Kungsan''. The park's central location and its outdoor cafés makes it one of the most popular hangouts and meeting places in Stockholm. Stockholm Palace
Stockholm Palace or the Royal Palace ( sv, Stockholms slott or ) is the official residence and major royal palace of the Swedish monarch (King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia use Drottningholm Palace as their usual residence). Stockholm Palace is on Stadsholmen, in Gamla stan in the capital, Stockholm. It neighbours the Riksdag building. The offices of the King, the other members of the Swedish royal family, and the Royal Court of Sweden are here. Strömbron
Strömbron ( Swedish: "The Stream Bridge") is a viaduct in central Stockholm, Sweden. Stretching over Norrström, it is connecting the old city Gamla stan to the northern-central district Norrmalm, or, more specifically, to Blasieholmen near the park Kungsträdgården. History Though initially put forward by the influential city planner Albert Lindhagen (1823–1887) in 1866, a bridge on the current location was never included in any of his district-level city plans. In 1874 however, the Building Society of Stockholm (''Stockholms byggnadsförening'') required permission to construct a toll-financed bridge stretching from the northern end of Skeppsbron to connect directly to Stallgatan, thus with a more eastern course than the present bridge. Norrmalm
Norrmalm is a city district in Stockholm, Sweden. History Norrmalm is part of the larger borough of Norrmalm (''Norrmalms stadsdelsområde''). The southern part of the district, Lower Norrmalm (''Nedre Norrmalm''), also known as City, constitutes the most central part of Stockholm, while Upper Norrmalm (''Övre Norrmalm'') is more residential. The name Norrmalm is first mentioned in 1288. In 1602 Norrmalm became an independent city with its own mayor and administration called the Northern Suburb (''Norra Förstaden''). The town was short-lived and in 1635 it was incorporated with Stockholm again. Norrmalm is today considered to be the central part of Stockholm. The Great Synagogue of Stockholm ( sv, Stockholms stora synagoga, he, בית הכנסת הגדול של שטוקהולם ''Bet ha-Knesset ha-Gadol shel Stokholm'') is located on a small street called Wahrendorffsgatan, close to the park Kungsträdgården on Norrmalm, Stockholm. It was built 1867-1870 according to designs made in 1862 by the architect Fredrik Wilhelm Scholander.
