Krauss-Maffei ML 2200 C'C'
The diesel-hydraulic locomotive ML 2200 C'C' was a 6 axle variant of the DB Class V 200 series of locomotives, which were built for Yugoslav State Railways (JDŽ) by manufacturer Krauss-Maffei. The JDŽ bought three units, which it initially named D 66, later these were named JŽ series 761 A fourth engine was rebuilt as ML 3000 C'C', which was eventually purchased by the Deutsche Bundesbahn and numbered V 300 001 (after 1968 as 230 001). Background, design and production In 1955, the German Federal Railways (Deutsche Bundesbahn), together with the company Krauss-Maffei, took the DB Class V 200 locomotive V 200 005 on a demonstration journey to Turkey, Greece, and Yugoslavia. The result of this was that the interest of the JDŽ in the V 200 was awakened, and in 1956 ordered three locomotives; however, on Yugoslav railways the axle load limit was 16 t; so Krauss-Maffei designed the ML 2200 C'C', a six axle version of the V 200 with correspondingly lower axle loads.Two bogies ea ... KraussMaffei is a German manufacturer of injection molding machines, machines for plastics extrusion technology, and reaction process machinery. It was acquired by ChemChina in 2016. History Locomotives KraussMaffei was formed in 1931 from a merger of the two Munich firms of Maffei (founded 1838) and Krauss & Co. (founded 1860). Both belonged to the leading German makers of locomotives of various types. Maffei also built other steam-operated vehicles and, later, manufactured vehicles with combustion engines, including locomotives, trolleybuses and buses until the 1950s. The Hannover Messe (HM; "Hanover Fair") is one of the world's largest trade fairs, dedicated to the topic of industry development. The Baden Black Forest Railway (German: ''Badische Schwarzwaldbahn'') is a twin-track, electrified railway line in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, running in a NW-SE direction to link Offenburg on the Rhine Valley Railway (''Rheintalbahn'') with Singen on the High Rhine Railway (''Hochrheinbahn''). Passing directly across the Black Forest, through spectacular scenery, the route is 150 km long, ascends 650 metres from lowest to highest elevation, and passes through 39 tunnels and over 2 viaducts. The Krauss-Maffei ML 4000 is a road switcher diesel-hydraulic locomotive, built between 1961 and 1969 by German manufacturer Krauss-Maffei in Munich, Germany. It generated from two Maybach V16 engines. 37 examples were built for two North American railroads and one South American railroad. History In 1959, General Motors’ Electro-Motive Division (EMD) rebuilt nine of its GP9 locomotives for the Union Pacific Railroad with pre-production examples of a new turbo-supercharging system that would raise the locomotives’ horsepower to 2000. This soon evolved into the GP20. This supplemented the UP's fleet of powerful GTEL locomotives, the most recent batch of which could output 8500 horsepower. Topčider ( sr-cyr, Топчидер; ) is a forest park and an urban neighborhood of Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. It is divided between the municipalities of Čukarica, Rakovica and Savski Venac.
