Elathur, Kozhikode
Elathur is a part of Calicut corporation in Kozhikode district in the Indian state of Kerala. It is located about 12 km north of Kozhikode city on the National Highway 66. It is bounded by the Arabian Sea at the west and Korapuzha River (Elathur River) at the north. The Elathur River is generally considered to be the boundary between the North Malabar and South Malabar in the erstwhile district of Malabar. At the 2001 census, Elathur panchayat has a population of 41,326 with a nearly equal proportion of Hindus and Muslims. The panchayat covers an area of 13.58 km2, but a major portion of the area has been taken up by National Highway 66, the State highway, rivers and the Indian Railways. Atholi is a Grama Panchayath in Kozhikode district of Kerala state, South India. It is a small town on the banks of Korapuzha river. Thiruvangoor (തിരുവങ്ങൂർ) is a small village away from Kozhikode, Kerala, India. It lies to the east of the Arabian Sea (Kappad) and west of Kuniyil Kadavu. Portuguese navigator Vasco de Gama is believed to have landed near Thiruvangoor, at Kappad, during one of his voyages, on 20 May 1498. Thiruvangoor sits on a national highway. Kappad
Kappad, or Kappakadavu locally, is a beach and village near Koyilandy, in the district Kozhikode, Kerala, India. A stone monument installed by government commemorates the "landing" by Vasco da Gama with the inscription, Vasco da Gama landed here, Kappakadavu, in the year 1498'.'' In 2007 a Rs. 1.5 crore program to beautify the beach was launched by eralaTourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. It is now completed and Kappad beach has a corniche and park. The park includes a restroom, restaurant and seating. The nearest major railway station is Koyilandy, about 10 km away from Kappad. Ulliyeri is a village in Kozhikode district in the state of Kerala, India. Ulliyeri is a town between Koyilandy and Balussery and also between Kuttiyadi and Kozhikode. Geography Ulliyeri is located at 11°26′0″N 75°47′0″E Demographics India census, Ulliyeri had a population of 30,742 with 14,929 males and 15,813 females. Pavangad, Kozhikode
Pavangad is a suburb included in Kozhikode corporation in the Kozhikode district of Kerala, India. It is located about 6.5 km north of Calicut on the Calicut-Kannur National Highway 66 (India) and is bounded by the Arabian Sea at the west, Canoli Canal at east and Korapuzha River at the north.
