Ripon is a single member electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It is a rural electorate based in western Victoria. In 1946 the electoral district of Ripon was first contested but then abolished in the 1955 election after being held by Labor for seven of these years. Wedderburn is a rural town in Victoria, Australia on the Calder Highway, north of Victoria's capital city, Melbourne. At the , Wedderburn had a population of 680. The Shire of Loddon is a local government area in Victoria, Australia, located in the northern part of the state. It covers an area of and in 2021 had a population of 7,759. It includes the towns of Inglewood, Boort, Serpentine, Pyramid Hill and Wedderburn. It was formed in 1995 from the amalgamation of the Shire of East Loddon, Shire of Gordon, Shire of Korong, and parts of the Rural City of Marong, Shire of Bet Bet, Shire of Maldon and Shire of Tullaroop. Kulwin Railway Line
The Kulwin railway line is located in north-western Victoria, Australia. It junctions from the Robinvale line at Korong Vale and only sees usage by freight trains. History The line was opened from Korong Vale to Wycheproof in 1883, and extended to Sea Lake in 1893, to Nandaly in 1914, Mittyack in 1919, and Kulwin in 1920. Access to the line was originally from the Bendigo line via Bridgewater, until the opening of the Dunolly to Inglewood route to the Mildura line in 1888. The last regular passenger service on the line ran from Bendigo to Sea Lake on 7 May 1977 and was operated by a DERM. In April 2008 it was announced that the Korong Vale – Charlton section of the line would be upgraded as part of the Victorian core grain network, in a $23.7 million package with 6 other lines. Robinvale Railway Line
The Robinvale railway line is a freight only country railway line in north-western Victoria, Australia. The line branches from the Mildura line at Dunolly, and at Inglewood the Eaglehawk – Inglewood line connects with the Piangil line outside Bendigo. The parallel Kulwin line junctions from the Robinvale line at Korong Vale then continues northward. History The line was opened from Inglewood to Korong Vale in 1882, and first extended towards Charlton as part of what is now the Kulwin line. The line from Korong Vale to Boort opened in 1883, and to Quambatook in 1894. It was extended to Ultima in 1900, to Chillingollah in 1909, to Manangatang in 1914, to Annuello in 1921, and Robinvale in 1924. Korong Vale Railway Station, Victoria
Korong Vale is a demolished railway station, located at the junction of the Robinvale and Kulwin railway lines, in the township of Korong Vale, Victoria, Australia. Only freight trains use the line though the station. At the peak of operations, the station had an island platform with footbridge access, two signal boxes, a marshalling yard, goods platform and shed, and a weighbridge.
