Konkani Cinema
Konkani cinema is an Indian film industry, where films are made in the Konkani language, which is spoken mainly in the Indian states of Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka and to a smaller extent in Kerala. The films have been produced in Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Kerala. As of 2018, when the Indian film industry celebrated its centennial, a total of 145 feature films were released. This was another increase over a total films made until 2009 as documented by Isidore Dantas in his book ''Konkani Cholchitram''. The first full-length Konkani film was ''Sukhi Konn'' produced by GMB Rodrigues in 1949 but was never released. '' Mogacho Anvddo'', was released on 24 April 1950, and was produced and directed by Jerry Braganza, a native of Mapusa, under the banner of ETICA Pictures. The Cinema of India consists of motion pictures produced in India, which had a large effect on world cinema since the late 20th century. Major centers of film production across the country include Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Kochi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack and Guwahati. ''The Victim'' is a 2012 Konkani theatrical film directed by Milroy Goes, It was the first Konkani Digital Theatrical film in Konkani Cinema with Bollywood actors that was shot entirely on Canon EOS 7D. National Film Development Corporation Of India
The National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC) based in Mumbai is the central agency established in 1975, to encourage high quality Indian cinema. It functions in areas of film financing, production and distribution and under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. The primary goal of the NFDC is to plan, promote and organise an integrated and efficient development of the Indian Film Industry and foster excellence in cinema. History It was established in 1975. ''Paltadacho Munis'' or ''The Man Beyond the Bridge'' is an Indian film in Konkani directed by Laxmikant Shetgaonkar. Set in Goa, the film is about a recently widowed forest ranger in a dwindling forest, who strikes up an unlikely relationship with a woman he finds lost and alone in the woods. The film tries to destigmatise mental illness, often equated with being possessed by the devil in rural India. The film was premiered at 2009 Toronto International Film Festival, where it won the prize of the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI Prize) for Discovery. Indira Gandhi

Frank Fernand
Franklin Fernandes (3 May 1919 – 1 April 2007), better known as Frank Fernand, was an Indian film maker and musician who is remembered for some of the earliest films in Konkani cinema, such as '' Amchem Noxib'' (Our luck) and ''Nirmonn'' (Destiny). Frank Fernand was born in Curchorem, Goa and had his initial training in music from Diego Rodrigues and mastered violin and trumpet. In 1936, he moved to Bombay. He began playing music under well-known band-leader George Theodore at Green's Hotel and Taj Mahal Hotel. In 1942, he left Mumbai for Mussoorie to play with Rudy Cotton's band and blossomed into a fine jazz musician. He lived and played in Delhi for a while the same year. In the 1940s, when he was playing at a resort in Mussoorie, Mahatma Gandhi happened to be passing through. Frank Fernand listened to one of his lectures, and it brought about a big change in him. ''Padri'' ( Konkani:पाद्री/ಪಾದ್ರಿ, translation: Priest) is a 2005 Konkani language film directed by Rajesh Fernandes and produced by Raymond Quadros. It stars Newton D'Souza and Arona Fernandes in the lead roles as protagonists and Kiran Kerkar, Thapan Acharya, and Annie Quadros in the supporting roles. The first colour film in Konkani, it was produced under the banner of Chripton Motion Pictures by Tony Coutinho and Chris Perry and released in 1977. The film was shot in Goa, and also has footage shot in Paris, America and an ice-skating competition in Russia.
