Bhuierantlo Munis
''Bhuierantlo Munis'' ( en, Cave Man) is a 1977 Indian Konkani-language drama film. The first colour film in Konkani, it was produced under the banner of Chripton Motion Pictures by Tony Coutinho and Chris Perry and released in 1977. The film was shot in Goa, and also has footage shot in Paris, America and an ice-skating competition in Russia. Plot The movie's story is based on Alexandre Dumas's novel ''The Count of Monte Cristo'', which in turn was based on a Goan, Abbe Faria. Cast The film has Ivo Almeida Coutinho and Helen Pereira in the main lead and a star cast consisting of C. Alvares, Ophelia, Rico Rod, Cyriaco Dias, Robin Vaz, Souza Ferrao, Betty Fernandes, comedian Paul Romy and in a guest role, model Radha Bartake. Chris Perry (musician)
Chris Perry (born Christovam Pereira; 25 November 1928 − 25 January 2002), was an Indian musician, composer, songwriter, and film producer who combined jazz with Music of Goa, Konkani music. He was known in India as the 'King of Cha Cha Cha' and the 'Man with the Golden Trumpet', and was the composer of the iconic signature song of All India Radio. Early life and career Chris Perry was born Christovam Pereira in 1928 in Borda, Goa, Borda, the second of eight children born to Agostinho and Espiciosa Pereira. Dulpod is a Goan dance song with quick rhythm and themes from everyday Goan life. The plural of ''dulpod'' in Konkani is ''dulpodam''. The dulpod is a folk song, anonymous, freely improvised, and sometimes lacking in thematic unity. Konkani () is an Indo-Aryan language spoken by the Konkani people, primarily in the Konkan region, along the western coast of India. It is one of the 22 scheduled languages mentioned in the Indian Constitution, and the official language of the Indian state of Goa. ''Nirmon'' is a Goan Konkani film produced in 1966. It was directed by A. Salam and produced by Frank Fernand. The film features C. Alvares, Shalini, Anthony D’Sa, Ophelia, Souza Ferrao, Antonette and Jacinto Vaz. Cast and crew Nirmonn was Frank Fernand's second production. It had story and direction of A. Salam and music by Frank Fernand himself, dialogues by C. Alvares, screenplay and editing by R. V. Shirkhande. The film stars Shalini Mardolkar, C. Konkani cinema is an Indian film industry, where films are made in the Konkani language, which is spoken mainly in the Indian states of Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka and to a smaller extent in Kerala. The films have been produced in Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Kerala. As of 2018, when the Indian film industry celebrated its centennial, a total of 145 feature films were released. Lorna Cordeiro, (born 9 August 1944) also known as Lorna, is a Konkani singer from the coastal state of Goa, India, and is popularly known as the "Nightingale of Goa". Early and personal life Lorna was born in Bombay on 9 August 1944 to Cecelia and Theophilus Cordeiro who hailed from Saligao, Goa, she is the third of their six children. Her family belonged to the Goan Catholic community. Lorna's father encouraged his children in music and to speak Konkani at home; their immediate neighbour in Goa, recalls being very impressed by the family's singing of Konkani hymns. Mohammed Rafi (24 December 1924 – 31 July 1980) was an Indian playback singer and musician. He is considered to have been one of the greatest and most influential singers of the Indian subcontinent.
