Kohoj
Kohoj is a medieval military fortification located near Palghar in Palghar district in Maharashtra, India. Location Kohoj is located about 104 km from Mumbai off the Mumbai - Ahmedabad Highway. Upon reaching Manor you have to take a right turn under a newly built flyover and take the Manor, Maharashtra, Manor - Wada road. It is approximately around 10 km from the right turn. A few minutes drive on this road and one can see the Kohoj fort on your right. At the bottom of the fort is a lake known as 'Pazhar'. History The fort is said to be about 800 years old and finds a mention in the Treaty of Purandar (1665), Purandar treaty along with 22 other forts which were surrendered by Shivaji Maharaj to the Mughals on 11 June 1665. Tandulwadi Fort
Tandulwadi Fort is located near Saphale, 104 km north of Mumbai. Tandulwadi is not a fully built up fort, but a series of structures spread over the top of the mountain. The fort dates back 800 years and was primarily used as a watch tower over the surrounding plains. At a height of 1524 feet, it has views of the surrounding towns of Saphale, the Zanzorli lake, and the confluence of the Surya and Vaitarna rivers. Takmak Fort is located in Palghar taluka of Palghar district in Maharashtra. The fort is situated on a north-south hill spur ending in a steep rise. The fort is in a ruined state with few remains of fortification. This is a fort located from the city of Mumbai.
