''Know Hope'' is the third studio album by American metalcore band The Color Morale. It was released on March 20, 2013 through Rise Records and was produced by Josh Schroeder, Ramon Mendoza, Joshua Moore and the band themselves. It is the last album to be released on this label. Background and recording By mid-2012, the band was in the process of writing their third album, believed to be entitled ''Know Hope'', and originally expecting a 2012 or 2013 release. The band wrote twenty-two songs, twelve of which were finalized into the album. Josh Schroeder produced, engineered, mixed, and mastered the record from October to December 2012. Critical reception The album received mostly positive reviews, but also mixed reviews from several critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalised rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album has an average score of 67 out of 100 based on 6 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews". The Color Morale
The Color Morale is an American metalcore band from Rockford, Illinois, formed in 2007. The band includes vocalist/keyboardist Garret Rapp, guitarists Devin King and Aaron Saunders, bassist Mike Honson, and drummer Steve Carey. Rapp and Carey are the only two members of the original line-up that remain in the band. The group was signed to Fearless Records before they went into a hiatus in 2018. The band officially returned in March 2020. Before the hiatus, the band has released five studio albums: '' We All Have Demons'', '' My Devil in Your Eyes'', '' Know Hope'', '' Hold On Pain Ends'', and '' Desolate Divine''. The Independent Albums chart (previously titled Top Independent Albums) ranks the highest-selling independent music albums and extended plays (EPs) in the United States, as compiled by Nielsen SoundScan and published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. Top Heatseekers are "Breaking and Entering" music charts issued weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. The Heatseekers Albums and the Heatseekers Songs charts were introduced by ''Billboard'' in 1991 with the purpose of highlighting the sales by new and developing musical recording artists. Albums and songs appearing on Top Heatseekers may also concurrently appear on the ''Billboard'' 200 or ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. Metacritic's scoring converts each review into a percentage, either mathematically from the mark given, or what the site decides subjectively from a qualitative review. Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumental qualities include heavy riffs and stop-start rhythm guitar playing, occasional blast beats, and double bass drumming. Vocalists in the genre typically use thrash or scream vocals. Some later metalcore bands combine this with clean singing, often during the chorus. Bay City is a city and county seat of Bay County in the U.S. state of Michigan, located near the base of the Saginaw Bay on Lake Huron. ''My Devil in Your Eyes'' is the second studio album by American metalcore band The Color Morale. It was released on March 8, 2011 through Rise Records and was produced by Joey Sturgis. It is the last album to feature guitarist John Bross, who left the band in 2011. Critical reception The album got mixed reviews. ''JesusFreakHideout'' rated the album 4 out of 5, writing: "Now, I know those have legitimate, non-offensive uses, but I felt unclear about whether they threw those lyrics in with the non-offensive meanings implied, to sound passionate, to sound mainstream, or to just create controversy. Regardless of its intentions, I was a little turned off by that because I'd been looking for some good God-loving Christian music and got a tiny surprise there. Aside from that, the length of the record is only 36 minutes and 10 songs, which seems a little short to me.
