Klan (magazine)
''Klan'' is an Albanian language weekly political and finance magazine based in Tirana, Albania. The weekly provides economic and political news. History and profile ''Klan'' was first published in February 1997. Businessmen Marsel Skendo and Julien Roche, journalists Aleksander Frangaj, Armand Shkullaku, Andi Bushati, Edmond Laci, Sokol Balla, and designer Suad Barbullushi, are the co-founders of the magazine. The latter also worked as an editor in the magazine. ''Klan'' is one of the publications and media outlets owned by Klan group. As of 2002 the publisher of the magazine was Media 5 company which also published '' Korrieri'', a daily. Later ''Klan'' became part of the ADA group. The group also owns Klan TV. The magazine focuses on political and economic news. As of 2007 Andi Bushati was the editor of the magazine which is published weekly. It has its headquarters in Tirana. Albania ( ; sq, Shqipëri or ), or , also or . officially the Republic of Albania ( sq, Republika e Shqipërisë), is a country in Southeastern Europe. Tirana
Tirana ( , ; aln, Tirona) is the capital and largest city of Albania. It is located in the centre of the country, enclosed by mountains and hills with Dajti rising to the east and a slight valley to the northwest overlooking the Adriatic Sea in the distance. Due to its location at the Plain of Tirana and the close proximity to the Mediterranean Sea, the city is particularly influenced by a Mediterranean seasonal climate. It is among the wettest and sunniest cities in Europe, with 2,544 hours of sun per year. Tirana was founded as a city in 1614 by the Ottoman Albanian general Sylejman Pasha Bargjini and flourished by then around the Old Mosque and the ''türbe''. Albanian Language
Albanian ( endonym: or ) is an Indo-European language and an independent branch of that family of languages. It is spoken by the Albanians in the Balkans and by the Albanian diaspora, which is generally concentrated in the Americas, Europe and Oceania. With about 7.5 million speakers, it comprises an independent branch within the Indo-European languages and is not closely related to any other modern Indo-European language. Albanian was first attested in the 15th century and it is a descendant of one of the Paleo-Balkan languages of antiquity. Korrieri
Korrieri ( en, Courier) was an Albanian language daily newspaper. History and profile Established on 28 March 2001 as a berliner type publication, ''Korrieri'' was for a period (April 2007 - January 2009) on the front line of transforming Albanian journalism into a more market-driven activity exhibiting a British tabloid style newspaper which offered a vast range of articles of popular interest. Its style at the time was aggressive and direct and it very often published issues other publications will not touch. It had a high reputation among the young generation, but also it was highly respectable and strongly influential into the political levels. In March 2006, the student newspaper '' Reporteri'' became its fortnightly supplement on Saturdays. Klan TV
Televizioni Klan, also known as TV Klan, is an Albanian private television channel with national coverage, based in Tirana, Albania. History and profile TV Klan launched as a Franco-Albanian joint-venture, with its first broadcast airing on 25 October 1997. It is the first private TV channel in Albania. In 2002, ISO rated the channel as the most highly rated in Albania with 21.5% of audience share. As of 2006, the channel's analogue signal covered around 60% of Albania's territory. TV Klan is a media group that includes Klan Plus, Radio Klan, Klan News, Klan Music, ABC News (Albania), and North Macedonia-based Klan Macedonia. Edi Rama
Edi Rama (born Edvin Kristaq Rama, 4 July 1964) is an Albanian politician, painter, writer, former university lecturer, publicist and former basketball player, who has served as the 33rd and current Prime Minister of Albania since 2013 and chairman of the Socialist Party of Albania since 2005. Prior to his tenure as Prime Minister, Rama held a number of positions. He was appointed Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports in 1998, an office he held until 2000. First elected mayor of Tirana in 2000, he was reelected in 2003 and 2007. The coalition of centre-left parties led by Rama in the 2013 parliamentary election defeated the centre-right coalition around the Democratic Party of Albania of incumbent Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
