Kim Yeong-mi
Kim Yeong-mi, nicknamed "Pancake" (born March 10, 1991) is a South Korean curler. She was the lead, but now is the alternate on Team Kim Eun-jung. The Kim team represented South Korea at the 2018 Winter Olympics, where they won a silver medal. Career While still a junior curler, Kim first represented her country at the women's level at the 2012 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships, playing third for Kim Eun-jung, who she also played with in juniors. There, the team won a bronze medal. The team returned to the event in 2014, where they won a bronze medal. This would've qualified them for the 2015 World Championships, but the Worlds were held in Japan, which qualified over South Korea as hosts. The team would, however, win a gold medal at the 2016 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships, earning them the right to play in the 2017 World Women's Curling Championship in China, where they finished sixth. Uiseong
Uiseong County (''Uiseong-gun'') is a county in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, South Korea. Located near the center of the province, it is bounded by Andong on the north, Cheongsong on the east, Gunwi County on the south, and Sangju and Yecheon on the west. As in most parts of Korea, most of the land is vacant and forested; only about 19% of the county's area is farmland. The county is largely rural, with an economy dominated by agriculture; the only urbanized area is the county seat, Uiseong-eup. South Korean national treasure 77, a five-storied stone pagoda, lies in Geumseong-myeon. Also in Geumseong-myeon are a set of more than 300 dinosaur tracks from the early Cretaceous period. Pacific-Asia Curling Championships
The Pacific-Asia Curling Championships (formerly the Pacific Curling Championships) are an annual curling tournament, held every year in November or December. The top team receives a berth to the World Curling Championships, while the second-placed team also receives a berth if the championships are held in the Americas or in Europe. The Pacific-Asia Curling Championships currently consist of teams from Australia, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Japan, Kazakhstan, New Zealand, Qatar and South Korea. In 2018 WCF Congress, Nigeria is announced as the first African country accepted as member and will compete in the PAC zone beginning in 2019. Tournaments have been played in Canada, but Canada has never participated, since it is not part of the Pacific Zone. The 2019 Korean Curling Championships (branded as the 2019 KB Financial Group, KB Financial Korean Curling Championships), Korea's national curling championships, were held from July 6 to 11 at the Gangneung Gymnasium, Gangneung Curling Centre in Gangneung, South Korea. The winning teams on both the men's and women's sides became the Korean National Teams for the 2019–20 curling season. They represented Korea at the 2019 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships and were scheduled to compete in the 2020 World Men's Curling Championship and the 2020 World Women's Curling Championship before they got cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They represented Korea at the 2021 World Men's Curling Championship and the 2021 World Women's Curling Championship. Both the men's and women's events were played in a round robin format which qualified four teams for the playoffs. The 2020 championship was originally scheduled to be held from May 18 to July 7. The Korean Curling Championships (branded as the KB Financial Korean Curling Championships from 2012 to 2022) are the annual Korean men's and women's curling championships, organized by the Korean Curling Federation (KCF). The winners of the championship qualify for the Korean National Team. Until 2022, they earned the right to represent South Korea at the Pacific-Asia Curling Championships (PACC) and the World Curling Championships if they reached qualification. Every four years, the winners also qualify to represent South Korea at the Winter Olympic Games if the country received a berth.
