Kim Won-ho
Kim Won-ho (Hangul: 김원호; born 2 June 1999) is a South Korean badminton player. Kim who was educated at the Maewon High School, competed at the 2016 Asian Junior Championships, and won the silver medals in the mixed doubles and team event. He also the bronze medallists at the 2017 World Junior Championships in the boys' doubles and team event. Kim is the son of the Olympic gold medalist Gil Young-ah. He was the youngest player from the Korean national team who competed at the 2017 Sudirman Cup. 2018 Thomas & Uber Cup
The 2018 Thomas & Uber Cup (officially known as the 2018 BWF Thomas & Uber Cup) was the 30th edition of the Thomas Cup and the 27th edition of the Uber Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the men and women's national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF). The tournament was hosted by Bangkok, Thailand 20–27 May 2018. The matches were played at IMPACT Arena. It was the second time that Thailand hosted the Thomas Cup and the first time hosted the Uber Cup tournament and the first time this event was held in Southeast Asia since 2010 in Malaysia. The Russia national badminton team (russian: Сборная России по бадминтону) represents Russia in international badminton competitions. The team is organized by the National Badminton Federation of Russia (NBFR) located in Moscow. The NBFR became the sport's sole administrator when the Russian Badminton Federation (RBF) was dissolved by the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) in 2005. In light of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, Badminton World Federation (BWF) banned Russian athletes and officials from tournaments. It also cancelled all BWF-sanctioned events in Russia, and banned all Russian national flags and symbols from being displayed at any BWF-sanctioned event. Gil Young-ah
Gil Young-ah (born April 11, 1970 in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do) is a former female badminton player from South Korea. At the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, she won the bronze medal in the women's doubles together with Shim Eun-jung. Four years later, at the Atlanta Olympics, she won the gold medal in the mixed doubles together with Kim Dong-moon and the silver medal in the women's doubles together with Jang Hye-ock. The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is the international governing body for the sport of badminton recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was founded in 1934 as the International Badminton Federation (IBF) with nine member nations ( Canada, Denmark, England, France, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales).
