Killian O'Dwyer is an Irish hurler who plays as a defender for the Tipperary senior team. He plays his club hurling with Killenaule. Career O'Dwyer made his senior debut for the Tipperary hurling team on 26 January 2019 in the first round of the 2019 National Hurling League against Clare when he came on as a late substitute. The GAA Hurling Under-20 All-Ireland Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Bord Gáis Energy GAA Hurling Under-20 All-Ireland Championship) is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition for male players between the ages of 17 and 20 in Ireland. The championship was contested as the All-Ireland Under-21 Championship between 1964 and 2018 before changing to an under-20 age category from 2019. Killenaule Hurlers
Killenaule () is a small town and civil parish in County Tipperary, Ireland. It is part of the ecclesiastical parish of Killenaule and Moyglass, in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly, and the barony of Slievardagh. It is east of Cashel on the R689 and R691 roads, at the south-western edge of the Slieveardagh Hills. History Killenaule came to national prominence in Ireland due to the discovery of the Derrynaflan Chalice. It was discovered in Derrynaflan Island in 1980 by Michael Webb and his son. They were scanning the area with a metal detector, then a relatively new device on the market. The chalice was part of the Derrynaflan Hoard, consisting of an 8th-century chalice, a strainer or ladle and a paten. They were enclosed in a bronze basin buried 45 cm below ground and found about 20 metres from a church ruin. The 2016 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship was the 86th staging of the All-Ireland hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. It is the primary inter-county hurling championship for boys under the age of eighteen. The championship began on 6 April 2016 and ended on 4 September 2016. Galway entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Tipperary in the All-Ireland semi-final. On 4 September 2016 Tipperary won the championship following a 1-21 to 0-17 defeat of Limerick in the All-Ireland final. 2018 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship
The 2018 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship was the 55th and last staging of the All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1964. The championship began on 7 May 2018 and ended on 26 August 2018. Limerick were the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Tipperary in the Munster semi-final. On 26 August 2018, Tipperary won the championship following a 3-13 to 1-16 defeat of Cork in the All-Ireland final. This was their 10th All-Ireland title overall and their first in eight championship seasons. The 2019 National Hurling League is the 88th season of the National Hurling League for county teams. Kilkenny were the defending champions, having won the 2018 league. The GAA announced a new broadcast agreement on 10 January 2019 that runs from 2019 until 2022. Eir Sport and RTÉ provide live TV coverage of the league on Saturday nights. TG4 broadcast Sunday afternoon games. Tipperary Senior Hurling Team Season 2019
The 2019 season was Liam Sheedy's first year in charge since returning as manager of the Tipperary senior hurling team, having been previously in charge from 2008 to 2010. The team were sponsored by world leading CEO advisory firm Teneo for the first year in a deal worth up to €180,000 a year on a rolling 12-month contract. On 24 September 2018, Liam Sheedy was appointed as the new manager of the Tipperary senior hurling team on a three-year term.
