Killererin
Killererin ( ga, Cill Fhir Iarainn) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Tuam area in County Galway, Ireland. The club is a member of the Galway GAA. A Gaelic football club, Killererin fields underage teams up to U-16s play in the Galway league and championships. History Founded in 1889, the club was originally named Killererin John Dillon's. Competing for much of the 20th century in the junior grade, the club won its first county junior championship title in 1968. Promoted to senior grade, the club won the Galway Senior Football Championship in 1976. The club went on to win several club titles, and won its sixth county title defeating Corofin in October 2010. They faced St Brigid's of Roscommon in the 2010 Connacht Senior Club Football Championship final, but were beaten in extra time. Several Killererin players have played for Galway inter-county teams. Pádraic Joyce
Pádraic Joyce (born 1 April 1977) is a Gaelic football manager and former player who played as a forward. He has been manager of the senior Galway county team since 2019. Joyce won the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship twice with Galway as a player and received three All Star Awards. He won four Galway Senior Football Championships while playing for the Killererin club. He also captained Ireland in the International Rules Series. In May 2020, the ''Irish Independent'' named Joyce at number sixteen in its "Top 20 footballers in Ireland over the past 50 years". The Connacht Senior Club Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football tournament played between senior clubs in Connacht, with one qualifying from each of the five individual county championships. Colin Forde (Gaelic Footballer)
Colin Forde (born ) is an Irish sportsperson who played Gaelic football with Killererin, and was a member of the Galway senior football team from 2011 to 2015. At club level, Forde was a member of the Killererin team that won the 2010 Galway Senior Football Championship. He was full-back on the Galway minor team that won the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship in 2007, and captained the Galway U21 team which won the 2011 All-Ireland Under-21 Football Championship. The Galway county football team ( ) represents Galway in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Galway GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Connacht Senior Football Championship and the National Football League. Nicky Joyce is an inter-county Gaelic football player for Galway. He plays his club football with Killererin and was a member of the Galway senior team from 2003 to 2010 but returned in 2012. St Brigid's GAA Club (''Naomh Bríd'') is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the parishes of Kiltoom and Cam in South County Roscommon, Ireland. They play in green and red colours and their home pitch is at Newpark, Kiltoom. The club was founded in 1944 and is the home club of former Roscommon inter-county player Gerry O'Malley. St Mary's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the western ward of Sligo, County Sligo, Republic of Ireland. History The club was formed in 1976 from the amalgamation of the Craobh Rua and Muire Naofa clubs. St Grellan's Gaelic Football Club ( ga, Cumann Peile Ghrealláin Naofa) was a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Ballinasloe, County Galway, Ireland. The team was named in honour of Saint Grellan, patron saint of Ballinasloe. St Grellan's GFC were the first club to win a record seven Galway county football titles in a row from 1913 to 1919 and were undefeated in the county championship from 1913 to 1930. In 1980, they were also the first Galway Club to reach an All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship in 1980. Roscommon Gaels GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Roscommon in County Roscommon, Ireland. The club provides teams for both hurling and Gaelic football. History The club was founded in 1959 as a result of a merger between two clubs, Eoghan Ruadhs & St. Comans. The club is a successor club to the numerous clubs that represented the Roscommon town area in the decades prior to this.
