''Killer Cop'' ( it, La polizia ha le mani legate) is a 1975 Italian poliziottesco- crime film directed in 1975 by Luciano Ercoli. The film's plot reprises the Piazza Fontana bombing which happened in Milan in 1969. The gun in the umbrella used in the movie is similar to a Bulgarian umbrella used at London in 1978 to kill Bulgarian dissident Georgi Markov. Luciano Ercoli
Luciano Ercoli (October 19, 1929 – March 15, 2015) was an Italian film director, screenwriter, producer and unit production manager. Ercoli's career spanned approximately two decades before his retirement in the late 1970s, and saw him direct several films in the giallo genre, as well producing several Spaghetti Westerns. Ercoli was married to Spanish actress Nieves Navarro, who has appeared in several of the films he worked on. Life and career Ercoli was born in Rome, Italy, on October 19, 1929. His first film credit was as an assistant director for the 1955 film '' La risaia'', directed by Raffaello Matarazzo. Ercoli then acted as a film producer on several titles throughout the 1960s, before making his directorial début in 1970, helming the giallo film '' Le foto proibite di una signora per bene'', which he also produced and edited. Poliziotteschi (; singular ''poliziottesco'') constitute a subgenre of crime and action films that emerged in Italy in the late 1960s and reached the height of their popularity in the 1970s. They are also known as ''polizieschi all'italiana'', ''Euro-crime'', ''Italo-crime'', ''spaghetti crime films'', or simply ''Italian crime films''. Influenced by both 1970s French crime films and gritty 1960s and 1970s American cop films and vigilante films, poliziotteschi films were made amidst an atmosphere of socio-political turmoil in Italy known as Years of Lead and increasing Italian crime rates. Paolo Poiret
Paolo Poiret (29 September 1945 – 1 November 2015) was an Italian actor and voice actor. Biography Poiret began working on stage in 1972 and entered a career of film, television and voice acting in 1975. He was mostly active as a voice dubber during the 1980s and he dubbed over the voices of Robert De Niro, Craig T. Nelson, Steve Martin, Harvey Keitel and Arnold Schwarzenegger in some of their films.
