Kemerovo ( rus, Ке́мерово, p=ˈkʲemʲɪrəvə) is an industrial city and the administrative center of Kemerovo Oblast, Russia, located at the confluence of the Iskitimka and Tom Rivers, in the major coal mining region of the Kuznetsk Basin. KhK Kuzbass (russian: ХК Кузбасс) is a professional bandy club from Kemerovo, Russia, established in 1948. It plays in the Russian Bandy Super League, the top division of Russian bandy. The home games are played at Khimik Stadium in Kemerovo. While during the 2016-17 season, the indoor arena was their base, 2017-18 it will be Khimik again. The club colours are dark orange, white and black and the club logo also includes the arms of Kemerovo. It was founded in 1948 as Shakhtyor and played in the top division from 1955. The Bandy World Championship is a competition between bandy-playing nations' men's teams. The tournament is administrated by the Federation of International Bandy. It is distinct from the Bandy World Cup, a club competition, and from the Women's Bandy World Championship. A Youth Bandy World Championship also exists separately from the senior competition and has competitions in both the male and female categories. The 2007 Bandy World Championship was held in Kemerovo, Russia, 27 January – 4 February 2007. Men's national teams from 12 countries participated in the 2007 tournament: Belarus, Finland, Kazakhstan, Norway, Russia, Sweden (group A) and Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Mongolia, the Netherlands and the United States (group B).
