The Kholodnohirsko–Zavodska line ( uk, Холодногірсько-Заводська лінія, russian: Холодногорско-Заводская линия) is a line of the Kharkiv Metro, serving Kharkiv, the second largest city in Ukraine. The line is the first segment of the Kharkiv Metro system, in operation since 1975. It is longest of the system's three metro lines at and has the most number of stations (at 13), compared to the other two lines' 8 (on Saltivska line) and 9 (at Oleksiivska line) station segments. Kholodna Hora (Kharkiv Metro)
Kholodna Hora ( uk, Холодна Гора, ; russian: Холо́дная Гора́, meaning ''cold mountain'') is a station on Kharkiv Metro's Kholodnohirsko–Zavodska Line. The station is the western terminus of the line and was opened on 23 August 1975. It is located under the Poltavsky Shosse, in the middle of the ''Kholodna Hora'' residential district in the western part of Kharkiv. Until 8 October 1995, the station and the street on which it is located were known as Vulytsia Sverdlova (Sverdlov Street). The Battle of Kharkiv was a military engagement that took place from February to May 2022 in and around the city of Kharkiv in Ukraine, as part of the northeastern Ukraine offensive and eastern Ukraine offensive during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Kharkiv, located just south of the Russia–Ukraine border and a predominately Russian-speaking city, is the second-largest city in Ukraine and was considered a major target for the Russian military early in the invasion.
