Kermanshah Railway Station
Kermanshah railway station (Persian: ایستگاه راه آهن کرمانشاه) is a railway station located in the city of Kermanshah in Iran. Opening The station was opened by Hassan Rouhani on 20 March 2018. Dr. Hassan Rouhani appeared in Kermanshah Railway Station ordering the first passenger train to leave Kermanshah for the holy city of Mashhad. Dr Rouhani also ordered the Kermanshah-Mashhad train to leave and congratulated the people of Kermanshah, saying: "I announce the start of the first trip of Kermanshah train from this beautiful city to Mashhad". Kermanshah ( fa, کرمانشاه, Kermânšâh ), also known as Kermashan (; romanized: Kirmaşan), is the capital of Kermanshah Province, located from Tehran in the western part of Iran. According to the 2016 census, its population is 946,681 (2021 estimate 1,047,000). A majority of the people of Kermanshah are bilingual in Southern Kurdish and Persian, and the city is the largest Kurdish-speaking city in Iran. Hassan Rouhani
Hassan Rouhani ( fa, حسن روحانی, Standard Persian pronunciation: ; born Hassan Fereydoun ( fa, حسن فریدون, links=no); 12 November 1948) is an Iranian politician who served as the seventh president of Iran from 2013 to 2021. He is also a sharia lawyer ("Wakil"), academic, former diplomat and Islamic cleric. He has been a member of Iran's Assembly of Experts since 1999. He was a member of the Expediency Council from 1991 to 2021, and also was a member of the Supreme National Security Council from 1989 to 2021. Rouhani was deputy speaker of the fourth and fifth terms of the Parliament of Iran ( Majlis) and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council from 1989 to 2005. Mashhad
Mashhad ( fa, مشهد, Mašhad ), also spelled Mashad, is the List of Iranian cities by population, second-most-populous city in Iran, located in the relatively remote north-east of the country about from Tehran. It serves as the capital of Razavi Khorasan Province and has a population of 3,001,184 (2016 census), which includes the areas of Mashhad Taman and Torqabeh. The city has been governed by different ethnic groups over the course of its history. Mashhad was once a major oasis along the ancient Silk Road connecting with Merv to the east. Khosravi, Kermanshah
Khosravi ( fa, خسروی, also Romanized as Khosravī and Khosrovī; also known as Khosrowvī, Khūsrawī, and Khūsrovī) is a village in Alvand Rural District, in the Central District of Qasr-e Shirin County, Kermanshah Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 11, in 5 families. The village is populated by Kurds. History Khosravi is more than one thousand years old and the Khosravi customs has a history of more than 100 years. On 10 May 1992, an unidentified number of Iraqi and Iranian POWs were exchanged at Khosravi border; on 19 May 1993, another 200 Iraqi POWs were released there; and on 18 August 1995, approximately 100 Iraqi POWs were released near the Iran/Iraq border of Mundharieh-Khosravi. Baghdad Central Station
Baghdad Central Station is the main train station in Baghdad. It links the rail network to the south and the north of Iraq. The station was built by the British to designs by J. M. Wilson, a Scot who had been an assistant to Lutyens in New Delhi and who subsequently set up a practice of his own in Baghdad. Construction started in 1948 and finished in 1953. The station is the biggest one in Iraq. History The train station was originally built by the British and it was considered as the "Jewel of Baghdad" for daily travellers. The station offered telegraph services, it had also a bank, a post office, a saloon, shopping areas and a restaurant. Rahahane Gharb
Rahahane Gharb (Persian: راه آهن غرب) or Iran's west railway is a partially finished railway corridor in western Iran. Sections and route The west railway consists of Malayer– Khosravi corridor which will eventually run to the border with Iraq and is made up of two sections. The first section from Malayer to Firuzan opened in May 2017, with planning and construction beginning in 1998 and 2001 respectively. The second section or the remaining 263 km between Kermanshah and Khosravi was planned in 2002 with its construction starting in 2012 and is being built by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation at a cost of 3.53bn yuan. The west railway project starts from Samangan station near Arak for 605 kilometers and passes through Malayer, Nahavand, Kangavar, Sahneh, Kermanshah, Islamabad-e Gharb, Gilan-e Gharb and Qasr-e Shirin and reaches to Khosravi town located on the border of Iran and Iraq.
