Kerby Raymundo
Kerby Mariano Raymundo (born January 19, 1981) is a Filipino former professional basketball player. He last played for the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Known as The Kid, he was a former star player with the Letran Knights during his NCAA years. Amateur career It was only in Raymundo's junior year in Jose Rizal Institute (High school) that he started playing basketball. He was discovered by Eugenio "Boy" Romerica Abunda, Jr., a former Colegio de San Juan de Letran player and coach. Raymundo played for Letran in the NCAA from 1997–1999 and made significant impact for the Knights alongside future PBA players Chris Calaguio and Willie Miller. From 1998-1999, he was a member of the Knights' back-to-back NCAA championships with victories over five-peat champion San Sebastian Stags and the JRU Heavy Bombers, respectively. Orion, Bataan
Orion, officially the Municipality of Orion (formerly Udyong), ( tl, Bayan ng Orion), is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Bataan, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 60,771 people. History 2019 Orion fire On January 29, 2019, a massive fire burned down over 900 houses in Sitio Depensa, Barangay Kapunitan, killing 1 person, injuring 50 persons, and affecting 1,018 families, or 6,131 individuals. The blaze was attributed to children who carelessly played with matches and afterwards mistakenly tried to douse the flames with gasoline. The Letran Knights are the collegiate varsity teams representing Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The collegiate women's varsity teams are called the ''Lady Knights'', while the high school varsity teams are called the ''Squires''. Michael Alfio Pennisi (born March 13, 1975) is an Australian-Filipino former professional basketball player. He last played for the GlobalPort Batang Pier of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was automatically hired by Red Bull in 2000. He was then traded to San Miguel for future draft picks. Junthy Valenzuela (born June 5, 1979) is a Filipino former basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), a former Barako Bull Energy Boosters, Red Bull Barako player. He was automatically pulled by Red Bull directly from the Philippine Basketball League. On April 14, 2008, he was traded by the Barako Bull Energy Boosters, Red Bull Barako to the Barangay Ginebra Kings in exchange for a 2009 second round pick and a 2010 first round draft pick. After his PBA career came into an end, Valenzuela returned to his home province, Cebu to become an assistant coach of the University of San Carlos Warriors men's basketball team in the CESAFI. The Philippine Basketball League (PBL) was a commercial semi-professional basketball league in the Philippines. The league was composed of several commercial teams with several collegiate and provincial stars. History The PBL was formed on May 6, 1983, a brainchild of San Miguel Corporation chairman Danding Cojuangco, under its original name the Philippine Amateur Basketball League (PABL). The 1999 Southeast Asian Games ( ms, Sukan Asia Tenggara 1999), officially known as the 20th Southeast Asian Games, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event held in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. JRU Heavy Bombers
The JRU Heavy Bombers (also as José Rizal University Heavy Bombers) are the National Collegiate Athletic Association basketball team of the Jose Rizal University. The other senior varsity teams may also be referred to as the Heavy Bombers. The juniors team are the JRU Light Bombers. And also became current team in the PBA Developmental League. The San Sebastian Golden Stags (also known as SSC-R Stags) are the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) basketball team of the San Sebastian College – Recoletos.
