Kenneth Kelly (sailing)
Ken Kelly (born 1944 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan) is a Canadians, Canadian Paralympic sports, Paralympic athlete and 1996 Summer Paralympics, 1996 Paralympic Games Sailing at the 1996 Summer Paralympics, Silver Medalist. Career In 1996, Ken competed in the 1996 Summer Paralympics, 1996 Paralympic Games in List of Sonar (keelboat) championships, mixed crewboat with Kirk Westergaard, John Mcroberts, John McRoberts and David Cook (sailor), David Cook. The team won Sailing at the 1996 Summer Paralympics, silver. The team was coached by Cindy Sheppard (Hardie). The team was awarded Sail Canada's Skippers’ Plan Male Athlete/Team of the Year, which is given to a Canadian Sailing Team athlete or team with a record of outstanding achievement in national and international competition. Moose Jaw
Moose Jaw is the fourth largest city in Saskatchewan, Canada. Lying on the Moose Jaw River in the south-central part of the province, it is situated on the Trans-Canada Highway, west of Regina. The International Paralympic Committee (IPC; german: Internationales Paralympisches Komitee) is an international non-profit organisation and the global governing body for the Paralympic Movement. The IPC organizes the Paralympic Games and functions as the international federation for nine sports. A sail is a tensile structure—which is made from fabric or other membrane materials—that uses wind power to propel sailing craft, including sailing ships, sailboats, windsurfers, ice boats, and even sail-powered land vehicles.
