Ken Sim
Kenneth Sim (; born October 18, 1970) is a Canadian politician and businessman who has served as the 41st mayor of Vancouver since 2022. Biography Born in Vancouver, Sim attended Magee Secondary School, Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School, and the UBC Sauder School of Business, graduating with a BComm in finance in 1993. He also holds a FCPA and FCA accounting designation. Sim co-founded Nurse Next Door Home Healthcare Services in 2001. Mayor of Vancouver Sim first ran for mayor with the Non-Partisan Association in the 2018 Vancouver municipal election and finished the runner-up to Kennedy Stewart. Sim was elected mayor of Vancouver, running under the ABC Vancouver party banner, on October 15, 2022. He is the first challenger to defeat a sitting mayor of Vancouver since 1980, when Mike Harcourt upset incumbent Jack Volrich. Sim is the first Chinese Canadian mayor of Vancouver. Worship is an honorific prefix for mayors, justices of the peace and magistrates in present or former Commonwealth realms. In spoken address, these officials are addressed as Your Worship or referred to as His Worship, Her Worship, or Their Worship. 2018 Vancouver Municipal Election
The 2018 Vancouver municipal election was held on October 20, 2018, the same day as other municipalities and regional districts in British Columbia selected their new municipal governments. Voters elected a mayor, 10 city councillors, 7 park board commissioners, and 9 school board trustees through plurality-at-large voting. Official registration for all candidates opened on September 4, 2018, and closed on September 14, 2018. For the first time, candidates were listed in random order instead of alphabetical order. This was done in an effort to create a more even playing field for candidates, as research has shown many voters are more likely to vote for those listed first on a ballot, giving those candidates a perceived advantage over those lower down on the list. Hector Bremner is a Canadian politician, who served as a member of the Vancouver City Council in Vancouver, British Columbia from 2017 to 2018. Early life Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Bremner spent his early childhood years in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. However, in the early 1990s, when Bremner was a young teenager, his home life became unstable and he "found himself couch-surfing with either his mom or his dad as they would stay with friends or move to different cities in search of opportunities," according to The Georgia Straight. Wai Young
Wai Young (; born May 20, 1960, in Hong Kong) is a Canadian politician from Vancouver, British Columbia. She represented the electoral district of Vancouver South for the Conservative Party of Canada from 2011 to 2015. She was elected to the House of Commons of Canada in the 2011 election, but was defeated by the Liberal Party candidate Harjit Sajjan in the 2015 election. Mark Allan Marissen (born 1966 in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian political strategist and principal of Burrard Strategy Inc., a communications company he founded in 1998. Marissen is also a senior advisor to McMillan Vantage Policy Group, affiliated with McMillan LLP, a Canadian business law firm. Colleen Hardwick is a Canadian urban geographer, film maker, tech entrepreneur and politician in Vancouver, British Columbia, who served on Vancouver City Council from 2018 to 2022. Jack Volrich
Jack J.
