Ken Ono
Ken Ono (born March 20, 1968) is a Japanese-American mathematician who specializes in number theory, especially in integer partitions, modular forms, umbral moonshine, the Riemann Hypothesis and the fields of interest to Srinivasa Ramanujan. He is the Marvin Rosenblum Professor of Mathematics at the University of Virginia. Early life and education Ono was born on March 20, 1968 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the son of mathematician Takashi Ono, who emigrated from Japan to the United States after World War II. His older brother, immunologist and university president Santa J. Ono, was born while Takashi Ono was in Canada working at the University of British Columbia, but by the time Ken Ono was born the family had returned to the US for a position at the University of Pennsylvania. Miyata is a Japanese manufacturer of bicycles, The company has been in operation since 1890. Miyata was also one of the first producers of motorcycles in Japan under the name Asahi. The Asahi AA was the first mass-produced motorcycle in Japan. Miyata claims to have been the first Japanese manufacturer of flash-butt welded frame tubes (1946) and the first to use electrostatic painting (1950). Takashi Ono (mathematician)
is a retired Japanese-born American mathematician, specializing in number theory and algebraic groups. Early life and education Ono was born in Nishinomiya, Japan. He received his Ph.D. in 1958 at Nagoya University. Career Ono immigrated to the United States after receiving an invitation from J. Robert Oppenheimer to work at the Institute for Advanced Study with a fellowship for the two academic years 1959–1961 and then went to the University of British Columbia to work as a mathematics professor from 1961 to 1964. From 1964 to 1969 Ono was a tenured professor at the University of Pennsylvania. From 1969 to his retirement in 2011, he was a professor at Johns Hopkins University.
