Keith Faulkner
Keith Faulkner (born 25 July 1936) is a British-born Australian actor. Early life Faulkner was born in Richmond, Surrey. He started his career at Corona Academy at the age of eleven and moved on to a career in film and television in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Career Faulkner later left acting and moved to Australia, where he worked for a telecommunications company. In the late-1940s, he appeared at the London Coliseum in ''Annie Get Your Gun'' playing Annie Oakley's brother Little Jake. In 1951, he appeared at Stratford-upon-Avon's Memorial Theatre during the Festival of Britain Season, playing Falstaff's Page in ''Henry IV'' and the Boy in ''Henry V''. This was followed by an extensive tour of Britain with the Elizabethan Theatre Company, performing various Shakespearean productions. ''Johnny on the Run'' is a 1953 adventure film directed by Lewis Gilbert. It was produced by the Children's Film Foundation It includes documentary footage of streets in the south side of Edinburgh in the early 1950s and of rural Perthshire. Plot In Edinburgh, young Polish boy Janek/Johnny lives with his aunt and cousins. He feels an outcast in the home. One day when he is out pushing his baby cousin in a pram a group of boys start to taunt him about being Polish and a fight begins, during which the pram rolls off. Janek chases after it with a growing crowd chasing. He catches the pram at the head of a flight of steps. His aunt materialises and calls him a wicked boy. The crowd mills behind her. ''Payroll'' is a 1961 British neo-noir crime thriller starring Michael Craig and Françoise Prévost. Directed by Sidney Hayers, it was based by screenwriter George Baxt on a novel by Derek Bickerton. The story is about a gang of villains who stage a wages robbery that goes disastrously wrong. The ''Edgar Wallace Mysteries'' is a British second-feature film series mainly produced at Merton Park Studios for Anglo-Amalgamated. There were 48 films in the series, which were released between 1960 and 1965. The series was screened as ''The Edgar Wallace Mystery Theatre'' on television in the United States. Synopsis Producers Nat Cohen and Stuart Levy acquired the film rights to all of Edgar Wallace's books and stories in 1960. The original intent was that 30 of the films would be produced by Independent Artists at Beaconsfield Studios while a further 20 would be made by the Film Producers Guild at Merton Park Studios. In the event, Independent Artists' only contribution to the series would be The Malpas Mystery while more than double the intended 20 were made at Merton Park. The resulting adaptations were loose, with very few using Wallace's original titles.
