Katherine Nicole Stengel (born February 29, 1992) is an American soccer player who plays for Liverpool of the Barclays Women's Super League. She previously played for the Boston Breakers, Washington Spirit, the Utah Royals and the Houston Dash in the NWSL. Bayern Munich in Germany and both Western Sydney Wanderers and Newcastle Jets in the Australian W-League. In 2012, she was part of the United States Under-20 team that won the 2012 CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship and the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. Early life Stengel attended Viera High School in Viera, Florida. She attended Wake Forest University from 2010 to 2013 where she played for the Demon Deacons women's soccer team. Stengel completed her college career as the highest scoring player in Wake Forest history with 50 goals in 75 games, and she was a four-time All-ACC honoree and a three-time All-America, becoming in 2011 the first Wake Forest player to be named first-team All America. The Western New York Flash (WNY Flash) was an American soccer club based in Elma, New York that competed in the United Women's Soccer league. They have won league championships in four different leagues: the USL W-League in 2010, Women's Professional Soccer in 2011, Women's Premier Soccer League Elite in 2012, and the National Women's Soccer League in 2016. The team was founded in 2008 as the Buffalo Flash and played in the USL W-League from 2008 to 2010. 2016 National Women's Soccer League Season
The 2016 National Women's Soccer League season was the fourth season of the National Women's Soccer League, the top division of women's soccer in the United States. Including the NWSL's two professional predecessors, Women's Professional Soccer (2009–2011) and the Women's United Soccer Association (2001–2003), it was the tenth overall season of FIFA and USSF-sanctioned top division women's soccer in the United States. The Frauen-Bundesliga (German for ''Women's Federal League''), currently known as the FLYERALARM Frauen-Bundesliga for sponsorship reasons, is the top level of league competition for women's association football in Germany. The USL Championship (USLC) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States that began its inaugural season in 2011. The USL is sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation (U.S. Soccer) as a Division II league since 2017, placing it under Major League Soccer (Division I) in the hierarchy. The 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup was the 6th edition of the tournament. The tournament was played in Japan from 19 August to 8 September, with sixteen national football soccer teams and mark the first hosting of a FIFA women's football tournament in the country. The host nation were to be decided on 19 March 2010 but was postponed by FIFA to give bidders more time to prepare their bids. On 3 March 2011 FIFA initially awarded the World Cup to Uzbekistan. The 2012 CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship was the sixth edition of the CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship. The final tournament was hosted by Panama from 1 to 11 March 2012. All matches were played at the Estadio Rommel Fernández. The top three teams of the 2012 tournament earned qualification to the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
