2014 NWSL College Draft
The 2014 NWSL College Draft was the second annual meeting of National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) franchises to select eligible college players. It was held on January 17, 2014, at the NSCAA Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was open to the public. Format *Draft order was determined by the final 2013 regular season standings. *The Houston Dash, the expansion team associated with the Houston Dynamo, then received the fifth pick in the first round, between the four teams that missed the 2013 playoffs and the four that made the playoffs, and first pick in the second and fourth rounds. After the 2014 allocations were released, this was later updated to give Houston the second pick in the first round and the first pick in the third round. The UCF Knights women's soccer program represents the University of Central Florida in National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Division I. Meleana Shim
Meleana Lokahi "Mana" Shim (born September 25, 1991) is an American former association football, soccer player and current athlete advocate. Shim played as a midfielder, spending most of her senior career with Portland Thorns FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). After the revelations of the Yates Report, Shim was named chairperson of a new Participant Safety Taskforce at U.S. Soccer. Early life Shim grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she attended Kamehameha Schools, Kamehameha Kapalama High School and helped the soccer team to three ILH championships. The Ole Miss Rebels are the 18 men's and women's intercollegiate athletic teams that are funded by and represent the University of Mississippi, located in Oxford. The first was the football team, which began play in 1893. Originally known as the "Mississippi Flood", the teams were renamed the Rebels in 1936. The Western New York Flash (WNY Flash) was an American soccer club based in Elma, New York that competed in the United Women's Soccer league. They have won league championships in four different leagues: the USL W-League in 2010, Women's Professional Soccer in 2011, Women's Premier Soccer League Elite in 2012, and the National Women's Soccer League in 2016.
