Kari Sylwan
Kari Sylwan (born 15 October 1940) is a Swedish actress, dancer, ballet teacher, and choreographer. Career Sylwan started as a dancer in 1956 at the Royal Swedish Ballet and at the Cullberg Ballet. At both companies she danced leading parts, for example the title roles in Birgit Cullberg's ''The Lady from the Sea'', based on Ibsen's play, and her adaptation of Strindberg's Miss Julie. Sylwan later acted in the Ingmar Bergman films ''Cries and Whispers'' and '' Face to Face''. With dancer Karin Thulin, Sylwan created the two-person company Kari och Karin ("Kari and Karin"), touring in Sweden and also appearing on television. 1996 to 2005 she was the vice-chancellor of the University College of Dance in Stockholm. In 2005 she was awarded the H. M. The King's Medal of the 12th order for her contributions to dance. Cries And Whispers
''Cries and Whispers'' ( sv, Viskningar och rop, lit=Whispers and Cries) is a 1972 Swedish period drama film written and directed by Ingmar Bergman and starring Harriet Andersson, Kari Sylwan, Ingrid Thulin and Liv Ullmann. The film, set in a mansion at the end of the 19th century, is about three sisters and a servant who struggle with the terminal cancer of one of the sisters (Andersson). The servant (Sylwan) is close to her, while the other two sisters (Ullmann and Thulin) confront their emotional distance from each other. Inspired by Bergman's mother, Karin Åkerblom, and his vision of four women in a red room, ''Cries and Whispers'' was filmed at Taxinge-Näsby Castle in 1971. Karin Elisabeth Dreijer (born 7 April 1975) is a Swedish singer-songwriter and record producer. Dreijer was one half of the electronic music duo the Knife, formed with their brother Olof Dreijer. Dreijer released their debut solo album under the alias Fever Ray in January 2009. Their second studio album, '' Plunge'', under the same alias, was released in October 2017. Dreijer's vocal style is notable for both shrill and deep tones, and also the use of multitracked vocals, with different uses of pitch-shifting technology on each track, creating an intricate and mysterious effect. The School of Dance and Circus ( sv, Dans- och cirkushögskolan, DOCH) was, until 2014, a Swedish institution offering higher education in the fields of dance education, folk dance, dance, dance therapy, historical dance, choreography and contemporary circus.
