Kaohsiung Arena
The Kaohsiung Arena () is an indoor sporting arena located in Zuoying District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. It is used to host indoor sporting events. It was used as a host to some of the indoor sporting events during the 2009 World Games. Name Local people give the nickname of Kaohsiung Arena as the ''Big Egg'' due to its shape and resemblance of an egg. History Kaohsiung Arena was opened on 27 September 2008. Architecture Kaohsiung Arena covers an area of 57,037 m2 and has a capacity of 15,000 people. It stands to a height of 42 meters over 6 floors. Kaohsiung City Government
The Kaohsiung City Government is the municipal government of Kaohsiung. It was formed after the merger of Kaohsiung County and Kaohsiung City in December 2010. Its chief administrator is the directly elected Mayor of Kaohsiung. Kaohsiung Aquas
The Kaohsiung Aquas ( zh, 高雄全家海神) are a Taiwanese professional basketball team based in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. They have competed in the T1 League since the 2021–22 season, and play their home games at the Kaohsiung Arena. The Aquas became one of the six teams of the inaugural T1 League season. The Aquas have a copartnership with Kaohsiung Jeoutai Technology, signed multi-players originally play in the team. T1 League
The T1 League is a Taiwanese men's professional basketball league founded in 2021. It is the third professional basketball league in Taiwan after the Chinese Basketball Alliance (CBA) and the P. League+ (PLG). 2009 World Games
The 2009 World Games () the eighth edition of the World Games, were an international multi-sport event held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan (under the name Chinese Taipei) from 16 July 2009 to 26 July 2009. The games featured sports that are not contested in the Olympic Games. Nearly 6,000 athletes, officials, coaches, referees and others from 101 countries participated in the 2009 Kaohsiung World Games, setting a record high for the multi-sport competition. Kaohsiung MRT
Kaohsiung Metro () is a rapid transit and light rail system covering the metropolitan area of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Its rapid transit network is known as Kaohsiung Mass Rapid Transit or Kaohsiung MRT. Construction of the MRT started in October 2001. The MRT opened in 2008 and the Circular light rail in 2015. Kaohsiung Metro is operated by the Kaohsiung Rapid Transit Corporation (KRTC; ) under a BOT contract the company signed with the Kaohsiung City Government.
