Kantipur Gurkhas ( ne, कान्तिपुर गोर्खाज) is a cricket team based in Kathmandu, Nepal that plays in the Nepal Premier League. The team is currently led by Basanta Regmi, and coached by Samson Jung Thapa. The team is owned by Kantipur Publications. Kantipur Gurkhas, a professional cricket team owned by Kantipur Media Group, is a team of common Nepalese representing the cultural identity enrooted in common man and aspiration inbuilt in them to move ahead. Everest Premier League (EPL) ( ne, एभरेष्ट प्रिमियर लिग) is a franchise Twenty20 cricket tournament organized by EPL Pvt. Ltd., a private group in Nepal run by Aamir Akhtar alongside his team including Kieran Holds and Jack Edmondson. It is the biggest cricket tournament in the country, played during the northern winter calendar, mostly in the month of December. It is played in round-robin format in which top four teams qualify for the playoffs. The tournament is renowned for having high attendance among the domestic cricket of the ICC associate nations. The first edition of the tournament was held in September 2016 with six franchises consisting of domestic and international players. Basanta Regmi
Basanta Regmi ( ne, वसन्त रेग्मी) (born 6 April 1986) is a Nepalese professional Cricketer. All-rounder Regmi is a left-handed batsman and a left-arm orthodox spinner. He made his debut for Nepal against Namibia in March 2006. He was one of the eleven cricketers to play in Nepal's first ever One Day International (ODI) match, against the Netherlands, in August 2018. He is the captain of the Kantipur Gurkhas of the Nepal Premier League. He also plays for the APF Club in the National League. Pradeep Singh Airee ( ne, प्रदिप सिंह ऐरी) (born 1 September 1992) is a Nepalese cricketer. Airee is a right-handed batsman and an occasional wicket-keeper, who bowls right-arm medium pace. Amrit Bhattarai (born 30 December 1990) is a Nepalese cricketer. Amrit is a right-handed batsman and a left-arm medium-fast bowler. He made his debut for Nepal against Hong Kong in October 2006. He is currently in the National Team. He represents the APF Club of the National League and Kantipur Gurkhas of the Nepal Premier League. Subash Khakurel ( ne, सुवास खकुरेल; born June 22 1987) is a Nepalese professional cricketer. Subash is a right-handed opening batsman and a wicket-keeper. He made his debut for Nepal against Hong Kong in December 2011. Gurkha
The Gurkhas or Gorkhas (), with endonym Gorkhali ), are soldiers native to the Indian Subcontinent, chiefly residing within Nepal and some parts of Northeast India.
