Kannamma (film)
''Kannamma'' is a 2005 Indian Tamil language film directed by S. S. Baba Vikram, starring Meena as the titular character along with Prem Kumar and Bose Venkat. The film was dubbed in Telugu as ''Lakshmi Sowbhagyavathi''. The script was written by M. Karunanidhi. Plot The story is that of a rich medical student named Kannamma, who falls in love with Anandan after he saves her from an acid attack by her driver Babu. Anand's friend Madan becomes Kannamma's ever-vigilant sentinel, risking his own marriage with Mala. Kannamma learns of Anand's martyrdom through TV. Meena Durairaj (born 16 September 1976), known professionally as Meena, is an Indian actress who predominantly works in the South Indian film industry as well as Hindi cinema. Meena has acted in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi films. In addition to acting, Meena is also a playback singer, TV judge, and occasional dubbing artist. Vairamuthu Ramasamy (born 13 July 1953) is an Indian lyricist, poet, and novelist working in the Tamil film industry. He is a prominent figure in the Tamil literary world. A master's graduate from the Pachaiyappa's College in Chennai, he first worked as a translator, while also being a published poet. He entered the Tamil film industry in the year 1980, with the film ''Nizhalgal'', an Ilaiyaraaja musical, directed by Bharathiraja. Manikka Vinayagam (10 December 1943 – 26 December 2021) was an Indian playback singer and actor. He sang for South Indian language films and acted in several Tamil films as a character artist. He was the son of the dancer Vazhuvoor B. Ramiah Pillai. His uncle and music guru was the singer C. S. Jayaraman.
