Kanchanamala
Kanchanamala (1917–1981) was an Indian actress known for her works in Telugu cinema. Personal life She was born in Tenali, Andhra Pradesh. During her childhood days, she went to live with her uncle who was a violin teacher. She was married to Gali Venkaiah, who died of tuberculosis. Career She started her film career in ''Srikrishna Tulabharam'', in a minor role as Mitravinda in 1935. The film was based on a play by Telugu cinema's first lyricist Chandala Kesava Dasu. Relangi played a bit role in the movie. She captured the audience with her beauty and played lead roles in films such as ''Veerabhimanyu'', ''Gruhalakshmi'' and ''Malapilla''. During his stint as a production director with Vel Pictures, Ramabrahmam felt that she was not fit for acting and rejected her. ''Nartanasala'' () is a 1963 Indian Telugu-language Hindu mythological film directed by Kamalakara Kameswara Rao and written by Samudrala Sr. It stars N. T. Rama Rao, Savitri, S. V. Illalu () is a 1940 Telugu-language drama film directed by Gudavalli Ramabrahmam. Plot Murthy (Umamaheswara Rao) is married to Indira (Kanachanamala) and they live happily. ''Bala Nagamma'' is a 1942 Telugu-language film directed by C. Pullayya and produced by S. S. Vasan. The story Bala Nagamma was one of the most popular Burrakathas. It was one of the successful early films made by Gemini Studios in Telugu which was not remade in Tamil. Gemini Studios remade the film in Hindi starring Madhubala titled ''Bahut Din Huwe'' (1954). Tenali is a city in Guntur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a municipality and the headquarters of Tenali mandal and Tenali revenue division.
