''Gruhalakshmi'' (; ) is a 1938 Indian Telugu-language drama film produced and directed by H. M. Reddy. It was the maiden film for Rohini Pictures and V. Nagayya. The film was adaptation of the popular stage play ''Rangoon Rowdy'' (1929) written by Somaraju Ramanuja Rao. The film was commercially successful. K. V. Pasupuleti Kannamba (''Pasupulēţi Kannāṃba'') (5 October 1911 – 7 May 1968) was an Indian actress, playback singer and film producer of Telugu cinema, of Andhra Pradesh, India. She acted in more than 170 films and produced about 25 films in Telugu and Tamil languages during the 1930s to the 1960s. Career Kannamba was born in Eluru. Kanchanamala (1917–1981) was an Indian actress known for her works in Telugu cinema. Personal life She was born in Tenali, Andhra Pradesh. During her childhood days, she went to live with her uncle who was a violin teacher. She was married to Gali Venkaiah, who died of tuberculosis. Career She started her film career in ''Srikrishna Tulabharam'', in a minor role as Mitravinda in 1935. The film was based on a play by Telugu cinema's first lyricist Chandala Kesava Dasu.
