Kalyani Silpanchal railway station ( bn, কল্যাণী শিল্পাঞ্চল রেলওয়ে স্টেশন) is a Kolkata Suburban Railway station on the Kalyani Simanta branch line of Sealdah railway division. It is situated at Shilpanchal Road, Kalyani in Nadia district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It serves Kalyani industrial areas. History The Calcutta (Sealdah)–Kusthia line of Eastern Bengal Railway was opened to run in the year of 1862. British Government in India established the railway station in the then Roosvelt town named Chandmari Halt in 1883. In 1954 it was renamed into Kalyani. The Kolkata Suburban Railway is a suburban rail system serving the Kolkata metropolitan area and its surroundings in India. It is the largest suburban railway network in the country with the highest number of stations. It is also the 7th largest suburban rail system in the world. There are five main lines and nineteen branch lines. The suburban railway operates more than 1,500 services, carrying 3.5 million people daily and 1.2 billion people every year. Kalyani, West Bengal
Kalyani is a Planned Community, planned urban city in Nadia district in the Indian States and territories of India, state of West Bengal. It is also a municipality and Community Development Block in Nadia. It is located around 50 kilometres (31 miles) from Kolkata — the capital of West Bengal. Kalyani is the administrative headquarters of Kalyani subdivision. It resides on the eastern banks of Hooghly River, and is part of the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA). Nadia () is a district in the state of West Bengal, India.
