Kalfaret
Kalfaret is a neighborhood in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. The neighborhood is located in the borough of Bergenhus, just north of the Store Lungegårdsvannet bay, east of the city centre. The area is an affluent neighborhood, although it is close to the main train line that runs into Bergen Station. History Prior to the end of the 19th century, the prominent citizens of Bergen had lived side by side with the rest of the city's population. However, as they became increasingly wealthy and influenced by international ideas and fashions, the upper classes sought to distance themselves from the dirt and the bustle of the city. Kalferet, located along the main route to Bergen, presented a more genteel but still convenient location and soon became the natural choice for the well-to-do. Bergenhus is a borough of the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. This borough encompasses the city centre and is the most urbanized area of the whole city. The borough has a population (2014) of 40,606. This gives Bergenhus a population density of . Location Named after the historic Bergenhus Fortress, Bergenhus makes up the city centre and the neighborhoods immediately surrounding it, including Sandviken and Kalfaret, as well as the mountains to the north and east of the city centre. Hansa Brewery
Hansa Bryggeri (Hansa Brewery) is the local brewery of Bergen, Norway. It was established in 1891 by Waldemar Stoud Platou when he acquired the minor local brewery Det Sembske Bryggeri. The name "Hansa" is meant to reflect Bergen's history as one of the Hansa trading cities. The brewery was originally situated in a part of Bergen called Kalfaret, at the foot of mount Fløyen, but relocated to an industrial area outside the city during the 1980s. Erna Solberg
Erna Solberg (; born 24 February 1961) is a Norwegian politician and the current Leader of the Opposition. She served as the 35th prime minister of Norway from 2013 to 2021, and has been Leader of the Conservative Party since May 2004. Solberg was first elected to the Storting in 1989, and served as Minister of Local Government and Regional Development in Bondevik's Second Cabinet from 2001 to 2005. During her tenure, she oversaw the tightening of immigration policy and the preparation of a proposed reform of the administrative divisions of Norway. Store Lungegårdsvannet is a bay located in the city and municipality of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. The bay separates the city centre, located in the borough of Bergenhus, from the southern boroughs of the city, Årstad, Fana and Ytrebygda. The bay is situated at the end of the Puddefjorden. History The bay is named after the farm of ''Lungegården'', the estate of the Danish nobleman Vincens Lunge.
