Kalex Engineering is a German specialty engineering company that designs, manufactures and sells high-performance parts for motorcycles. Kalex Engineering was founded in 2008 in the Bavarian city of Bobingen, Germany by Klaus Hirsekorn and Alex Baumgärtel. Company history The name of Kalex was created by merging the two first names of the company founders, Klaus Hirsekorn and Alex Baumgärtel. In 2010, with the introduction of the new 600 cc Moto2 class using controlled Honda engines, Kalex Engineering began providing its chassis to the Pons Racing team. Stefan Bradl became the first rider to achieve a world title using a Kalex chassis when he won the 2011 Moto2 World Championship for the Viessmann Kiefer Racing team. 2015 Moto2 World Championship
The 2015 FIM Moto2 World Championship was a part of the 67th Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, F.I.M. Road racing, Road Racing World Championship season. Marc VDS Racing Team rider Esteve Rabat started the season as the defending riders' champion, having won his first championship title in 2014 Moto2 season, 2014. 2014 Moto2 World Championship
The 2014 FIM Moto2 World Championship was a part of the 66th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Pol Espargaró was the reigning series champion, but did not contest the season as he joined the series' premier class, MotoGP. Scoring a record tally of points for the intermediate class, with 346, Marc VDS Racing Team rider Esteve Rabat wound up as the series champion, finishing 57 points clear of his teammate Mika Kallio. Rabat also set records for pole positions with 11, and tied the record for podiums with 14 – including 7 wins – matching Marc Márquez in the campaign. Kallio, a three-time winner, sealed the runner-up position in the championship after a collision with his closest challenger for the position, Maverick Viñales, in the final round of the season in Valencia. 2021 Moto2 World Championship
The 2021 FIM Moto2 World Championship was a part of the 73rd F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Remy Gardner won the world championship in the final race at Valencia. This season also saw the retirement of the intermediate class veteran Thomas Lüthi, as well the final season a 250cc-era debutant participated in the intermediate class. 2018 Moto2 World Championship
The 2018 FIM Moto2 World Championship was a part of the 70th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Franco Morbidelli was the reigning series champion, but he did not defend his title as he moved to the MotoGP class. 2018 was the final season that the Honda CBR600RR inline-4 engine package — which debuted in the 2010 Moto2 season — was used in competition; as the brand new engine package (765cc inline-3) supplied by Triumph Motorcycles was introduced for the 2019 season. The 2013 FIM Moto2 World Championship was a part of the 65th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Marc Márquez was the reigning champion, but did not contest in season as he joined the MotoGP with Repsol Honda. Season summary Pol Espargaró became champion in the class, after overhauling Scott Redding towards the end of the season. With six race victories, Espargaró won the championship by 40 points ahead of Redding, who won three races, with third place going to Esteve Rabat, a three-time race winner. Nicolás Terol, who finished seventh, was another three-time race winner, with other victories taken by Mika Kallio (fourth) and Jordi Torres, who was tenth in the championship. 2019 Moto2 World Championship
The 2019 FIM Moto2 World Championship was a part of the 71st F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Francesco Bagnaia was the reigning series champion but he was unable to defend his title as he joined the series' premier class, the MotoGP. The season saw the introduction of a new engine package. The Honda CBR600RR inline-4 engine package, which was used since the inaugural season of Moto2 in 2010, was replaced by a inline-3 engine manufacturered by Triumph Motorcycles. It is based on the engine of the Triumph Street Triple RS 765. Season summary Marc Márquez won the Moto2 championship title after a season-long battle with fellow Spanish rider Pol Espargaró; a third-place finish for Márquez at the Australian Grand Prix – despite a win for Espargaró – was enough to give him his second world title before moving into the premier class for the season. He took his last victory in the class at the Valencian Grand Prix, the last event of the season, despite starting from 33rd on the grid.
