Kaisa Pajusalu (born 19 February 1989, in Pärnu, Estonia) is a former Estonian rower. Rowing career She has won two medals at the Junior World Championship in the double sculls event with Jevgenia Rõndina. Rotsee
__NOTOC__ The Rotsee (previously known as Rootsee) is a natural rowing lake on the northern edge of Lucerne, Switzerland. It is regarded as one of the best rowing venues in the world. Description and location The lake and its surrounding area is used for local recreation. All of the lake frontage is a protected area. The lake formed through glacial processes and it is thought that the river Reuss flowed through this valley in between ice ages. There is no notable inflow and virtually no current. Nearby hills protect the lake from wind. It is long. These factors make it an ideal rowing venue and German-speaking rower refer to it as ''Göttersee'', which translates as "lake of the gods". Jevgenia Rõndina (born 20 May 1989) is an Estonian rower. She was born in Narva. She has studied at University of Tartu's Institute of Physical Education. She started her rowing exercising under the guidance of Valeri Osmokesku. She has won medals at Junior World Rowing Championships. She is three-times Estonian champion. Double Scull
A double scull is a rowing boat used in the sport of competitive rowing. It is designed for two persons who propel the boat by sculling with two oars each, one in each hand. Racing boats (often called "shells") are long, narrow, and broadly semi-circular in cross-section in order to reduce drag to a minimum. They usually have a fin towards the rear, to help prevent roll and yaw. Originally made from wood, shells are now almost always made from a composite material (usually carbon-fibre reinforced plastic) for strength and weight advantages. The riggers in sculling apply the forces symmetrically to each side of the boat. Double sculls is one of the classes recognized by the International Rowing Federation and the Olympics. Bosbaan
The Bosbaan is a rowing lake situated in the Amsterdamse Bos (Amsterdam Forest) in Amstelveen, Netherlands. Amstelveen is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands and is part of the metropolitan area of Amsterdam. Confusingly, all built structures at the north-eastern end of the course fall under jurisdiction of the city of Amsterdam. The Bosbaan (literal translation: Woods Course) is the oldest artificial rowing course in the world. The course was built in 1936 as part of an employment project and originally had five lanes, but was then widened to six lanes in 1954 when Amsterdam hosted the European Rowing Championships, the first international event where women were allowed to participate as elite rowers. Following a major renovation in 2001, the Bosbaan measures 2200 metres in length, 118 metres across and features 8 lanes.
