KTTS-FM
KTTS-FM (94.7 FM broadcasting, FM) is a country music formatted radio station, licensed to Springfield, Missouri and the greater Springfield area (market #140). It began broadcasting in 1948, and is one of the oldest FM stations in the United States. Programming KTTS places a strong emphasis on news programming. The station hosts a 24-hour news operation, and broadcasts news updates on an hourly basis. History KTTS-FM began broadcasting in 1948 on 94.7 MHz as the first FM station in Southwest Missouri. It was established by the Independent Broadcasting Company as a sister station to its AM station, KTTS (now KGMY). Granville Pearson Ward had been General Manager of KTTS (AM) since its establishment in 1942. KSGF-FM (104.1 MHz) is a radio station broadcasting a News Talk Information format. Licensed to Ash Grove, Missouri, United States, it serves the Springfield, Missouri area. The station is owned by SummitMedia. Journal Communications and the E. W. Scripps Company announced on July 30, 2014 that the two companies would merge to create a new broadcast company under the E.W. Scripps Company name that owned the two companies' broadcast properties, including KSGF-FM. The transaction was completed in 2015, pending shareholder and regulatory approvals. Scripps exited radio in 2018; the Springfield stations went to SummitMedia in a four-market, $47 million deal completed on November 1, 2018. Programming KSGF broadcasts a News/Talk radio format. KSPW (96.5 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Top 40 (CHR) format. Licensed to Sparta, Missouri, United States, it serves Springfield, Missouri. The station is owned by SummitMedia. Station history KSPW debuted on the air on February 21, 1988, as KJLR. By July 1988, it adopted an adult contemporary format as KLTQ. KLTQ changed to a hot country format on January 18, 1992. KLTQ subsequently switched to a soft rock format and then changed to a format referred to as "maximum country" in March 1996. The station changed its call letters to KMXH in 1999. Robert William Barker (born December 12, 1923) is an American retired television game show host. He is known for hosting CBS's '' The Price Is Right'' from 1972 to 2007, making it the longest-running daytime game show in North American television history.
