KKMR (106.5 FM broadcasting, FM) is a radio station city of license, licensed to serve Arizona City, Arizona, United States. is a radio station broadcasting out of Phoenix, Arizona and serving the Phoenix metropolitan area. It is owned by Educational Media Foundation. The station was assigned the KKMR call letters by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on February 13, 2002 in radio, 2002. History KKMR signed on in 1986 as KXMK at 106.3. It has spent most of its life simulcasting other stations, especially former co-channel station KOMR. The stations formerly held a classical music format in the early 1990s, with this station bearing the KONZ calls, and later it shared KEDJ's Modern Rock format. Arizona City is a census-designated place (CDP) in southwestern Pinal County, Arizona, United States. It is located near the junction of Interstate 8 and Interstate 10 at the midpoint between Phoenix and Tucson, approximately 60 miles (97 km) from the downtown of both cities. The population was 10,475 as of the 2010 U.S. Census. It is estimated to be approximately 11,030 as of a 2017 U.S. Census estimate. Arizona City is a rural, primarily residential community that features a 48-acre (19 ha) man-made lake. Air1 is an American Christian radio network. Owned by the Educational Media Foundation (EMF), it primarily broadcasts contemporary worship music, and is a sister to the EMF's K-Love network. WADO (1280 AM) is a commercial radio station licensed to New York City. It is owned and operated by Uforia Audio Network, a subsidiary of Univision. It broadcasts a Spanish-language sports radio format. By day, WADO is powered at 50,000 watts, the maximum permitted for American AM stations. But to protect other stations on 1280 AM from interference, at night it reduces power to 7,200 watts. It uses a directional antenna with a four-tower array.
