Gerard Koeppel is an American author and historian, with a focus on New York infrastructure. He has written three books—''Water for Gotham: A History'' (Princeton University Press, 2000), ''Bond of Union: Building the Erie Canal and the American Nation'' (Da Capo Press, 2009); and ''City on a Grid: How New York Became New York'' (Da Capo Press, 2015)—and contributed to numerous other books, including The Encyclopedia of New York City, of which he was an associate editor of the second edition. ''City on a Grid'' was a winner of a 2015 New York City Book Award and was named one of Planetizen's top 10 urban planning books of 2015. Gerhard Koeppel
Gerhard M. Koeppel (October 30, 1936, in Nuremberg, Germany – December 20, 2012 in Erlangen, Germany) was a German-born historian of Roman art and a specialist in the study of Roman historical relief sculpture. Koeppel studied at the University of Cologne and under the ancient art historian Heinz Kähler. Gerhard Koeppel was a member of the Archaeological Institute of America, the Classical Society of the American Academy in Rome, the Deutscher Archäologenverband, and Corresponding Member of the Deutsches Archaeologisches Institut. He was Resident Scholar at the American Academy in Rome (1974–1975), Professor-in-Charge of the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome (1980–1981, 1989–1990, spring 1998), and Director of the American Academy Summer School (1986–1988). Dan Koeppel
Dan Koeppel (born 1962) is an American author and columnist. He has written columns for ''The New York Times Magazine'' and ''Popular Science'', as well as having written extensively in a variety of mountain biking periodicals. He was previously the editor of the magazine Mountain Bike leaving the magazine in 1996. However, he still contributes a column titled 'Hug the Bunny' to the magazine. He was inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame in 2003 for his journalism work. Roger Jürg Köppel (born 1965) is a Swiss politician, journalist, entrepreneur and publicist. He is currently a member of the Swiss People's Party (SVP). He also holds the position of publisher and editor-in-chief at the right-wing Swiss weekly magazine ''Die Weltwoche'', a position that he has held since 2006.
