''Känn ingen sorg för mig Göteborg'' is the debut studio album from Swedish musician Håkan Hellström. It was released on 16 October 2000. The album has sold over 40,000 copies, which equals a platinum certification in Sweden. Music and lyrics Musically, the album has been described as a Swedish version of ''Born to Run''-era Bruce Springsteen, with upbeat songs, ringy guitars, trumpet leads and vocal harmonies. Lyrically, Hellström drew inspiration from his musical and lyrical heroes such as Morrissey and Bob Dylan, and the topics are often bittersweet or melancholic reflections of unrequited love, decadent youth culture (including drug use) or the feeling of being an outsider. Håkan Hellström
Håkan Georg Hellström (; born 2 April 1974) is a Swedish musician. He made his breakthrough in Sweden in 2000 with the song "Känn ingen sorg för mig Göteborg" and the album with the same name. He has released nine studio albums to date with eight reaching number one on the Swedish Albums Chart, while ''Ett kolikbarns bekännelser'' reached number two. Hellström played drums in the Swedish indie pop band Broder Daniel between 1988 and 1994, then briefly for Swedish alternative rock band Honey Is Cool with Karin Dreijer from The Knife and Fever Ray. In 1997 he rejoined Broder Daniel to play the bass, until 2003 when he left the band again to focus completely on his solo career. In 2006, following the birth of his son, he announced that he would take a break from touring and recording. "I Think We're Alone Now" is a song written and composed by Ritchie Cordell that was first recorded by Tommy James and the Shondells. It was a major hit for group, reaching number 4 on the US Hot 100 in April 1967. It finished at No. 12 on ''Billboard'' magazine's year-end singles chart for 1967. The song has been covered several times by other artists, most notably by Tiffany Darwish in 1987. The Tiffany recording reached number 1 on the charts of various countries including the US, UK, Canada, and New Zealand. The Plan (band)
The Plan is a Swedish band formed by Broder Daniel guitarist and subsequent bass player Theodor Jensen in 2000. History After having written own songs for a period of time, Jensen met organist Mikael Furugärde, drummer Niklas Korssell and bass player Peter Morén through mutual friends. The group recorded its first demo in the winter of 2000-2001 and were signed by EMI in early 2001. By that time, Jensen's childhood friend and Broder Daniel bandmate Håkan Hellström had – on his highly successful debut album Känn ingen sorg för mig Göteborg – already released an interpretation in Swedish of the Plan's song "Foggy Days" (called "Dom dimmiga dagarna"). Timo Räisänen (born 25 July 1979) is a Swedish musician. He has been part of Håkan Hellström's band, and has also played in the band Her Majesty. In 2004, he started his solo career. Räisänen was born in Gothenburg, Sweden. His mother was born in India, the daughter of an Anglo-Indian mother and a Swedish father. His father was of Finnish descent but was brought up in Brazil. After his parents married, they moved to Sweden. The title of his 2006 album, ''I'm Indian'' refers to his mother's ancestry. In 2007, Räisänen received the P3 Guld award, where he was named best male artist of 2007. In 2008, Räisänen received another P3 Guld award, where he was named best live artist of 2008. Grammis
The Grammis are music awards presented annually to musicians and songwriters in Sweden. The oldest Swedish music awards, they were instituted as a local equivalent of the Grammy Awards given in the United States. The awards ceremony is generally held each year in February in Stockholm. The awards were established in 1969 and awarded until 1972 when they were cancelled, then revived in 1987. There are around 20 different award categories, which have changed over the years.
