''Kuthu'' () is a 2004 Indian Tamil-language masala film directed by A. Venkatesh, starring Silambarasan, Ramya and Kalabhavan Mani. It is a remake of the 2003 Telugu film '' Dil''. The music was composed by Srikanth Deva. Released on 14 April 2004, it received mixed reviews and was an average hit. The film was later dubbed in Telugu as Dheerudu. Ramya was credited in later Tamil films as Divya Spandana because she disliked the name "Kuthu Ramya" that resulted from the success of this film. Gopishantha (26 May 1937 – 10 October 2015), better known by her stage name Manorama, also called Aachi, was an Indian actress, playback singer and comedian who had appeared in more than 1000 films and 5000 stage performances and several television series predomninantely in the Tamil language until 2015. Silambarasan Thesingu Rajendar, nicknamed as Simbu or his initials S. T. R., is an Indian actor, filmmaker and musician in Tamil cinema. He began his acting career by playing roles as a child artist in films directed by his father T. Kunnisseri Veettil Raman Mani (1 January 1971 – 6 March 2016), better known by his stage name Kalabhavan Mani, was an Indian actor and singer. Mani started his career as a mimicry artist with the Kalabhavan comedy troupe.
