Kutaisi International University
Kutaisi International University ( ka, ქუთაისის საერთაშორისო უნივერსიტეტი, tr) is a public research university in Kutaisi, Georgia. Its construction was announced on 12 September 2016 by Georgian prime minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili. The university will encompass over of land and will be designed for 60,000 students. The university opened officially on 21.10.2020 and offers educational programs leading to a Bachelor of Science in Management, Mathematics and Computer Science. According to the Georgian Government it is planned that Kutaisi Technological University will be the largest, regional education and research hub in the Caucasus with modern university campus. Kutaisi (, ka, ქუთაისი ) is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and the third-most populous city in Georgia, traditionally, second in importance, after the capital city of Tbilisi. Imereti (Georgian: იმერეთი) is a region of Georgia situated in the central-western part of the republic along the middle and upper reaches of the Rioni River. Giorgi Kvirikashvili ( ka, გიორგი კვირიკაშვილი; born 20 July 1967) is a Georgian politician who was Prime Minister of Georgia from 30 December 2015 to 13 June 2018. Prior to that he was Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development from 25 October 2012 until 1 September 2015, Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1 September 2015 until 30 December 2015, and Deputy Prime Minister from 26 July 2013 until 30 December 2015.
