Kurt Rocco
Kurt Rocco (born October 8, 1987) is a former American football quarterback who played for the Cleveland Gladiators and New Orleans VooDoo of the Arena Football League (AFL). He played college football at the University of Mount Union College career Rocco attended the University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio. He was a starting quarterback for the Raiders, leading them to the 2009 NCAA Division III National Championship game. During his career, he threw for 42 touchdowns, 3,929 yards, and a completion percentage of 70.9. Professional career Cleveland Gladiators After going undrafted in the 2010 NFL Draft, Rocco signed with the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League. He was the backup to John Dutton to begin the 2011 season, when Dutton tore his Achilles tendon in the team's season opener. John Dutton (quarterback)
John Dutton (born September 20, 1975) is a former Arena Football League quarterback. He was drafted out of University of Nevada, Reno in the 6th round of the 1998 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. In 2005, he led the Crush to the ArenaBowl XIX title. In 2006, he was on the cover of the EA Sports first AFL video game, Arena Football, making him the first player to pose for the cover. He had been the backup quarterback for the San Jose SaberCats behind Mark Grieb. After Grieb's suffered a season-ending injury earlier in the year, Dutton quarterbacked the SaberCats to a 52–14 victory over the Arizona Rattlers in ArenaBowl XVI. The 2014 Arena Football League season was the 27th season in the history of the league. The regular season began on March 14, 2014 and ended on July 26, 2014. League business Teams The city of Anaheim, California was awarded an expansion team on August 15, 2013. The team, named the Los Angeles Kiss, was the first AFL team to call Los Angeles home since the Los Angeles Avengers in 2008. Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, members of the rock band Kiss, were the owners of the expansion franchise. The New Orleans VooDoo season was the seventh season for the franchise in the Arena Football League. The team was coached by Pat O'Hara and played their first three home games at the New Orleans Arena. Due to the renovations to the arena that started immediately following the conclusion of the New Orleans Hornets season, the Voodoo played their remaining six home games at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The VooDoo had a chance to clinch a playoff berth in their final game, but lost to finish the season with a 5–13 record.
