2014 New Orleans VooDoo Season
The New Orleans VooDoo season was the eighth season for the franchise in the Arena Football League. The team was coached by Pat O'Hara and played their home games at the Smoothie King Center. The VooDoo finished the season 3-15 in a three way tie to be last in the league and failed to make the playoffs for a second straight season. Pat O'Hara
Patrick O'Hara (born September 27, 1968) is an American football coach and former quarterback who is the Pass game analyst for the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the head coach of the New Orleans VooDoo, Orlando Predators and Tri-Cities Fever. O'Hara also served as an assistant coach for the Houston Texans and Tampa Bay Storm. O'Hara played college football as a quarterback at USC and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 10th round (260th overall) of the 1991 NFL Draft. In his 16-year playing career, O'Hara has also played for the Ohio Glory, San Diego Chargers, Washington Redskins, Orlando Predators, Toronto Phantoms and Tampa Bay Storm, and played backup quarterback Tyler Cherubini in Oliver Stone's 1999 film ''Any Given Sunday''. Alamodome
The Alamodome is a 64,000-seat domed indoor multi-purpose stadium in San Antonio, Texas. It is located on the southeastern fringe of downtown San Antonio. The facility opened on May 15, 1993, having been constructed at a cost of $186 million. The multi-purpose facility was intended to increase the city's convention traffic and attract a professional football franchise. It also placated the San Antonio Spurs' demands for a larger arena. The Spurs played in the Alamodome for a decade, then became disenchanted with the facility and convinced Bexar County to construct a new arena for them, now called the AT&T Center. The Alamodome's regular tenants are currently the UTSA Roadrunners. The Portland Thunder season was the inaugural season for the franchise in the Arena Football League. The team was coached by Matthew Sauk and played its home games at the Moda Center. With a 5–13 record in the regular season, the Thunder qualified for the playoffs. However, they were defeated in the conference semifinals by the Arizona Rattlers by a 52–48 score.
