Kurt Linder Scholarship
The Swedish Film Academy ( sv, Svenska Filmakademin), formerly the Swedish Film Society (''Svenska Filmsamfundet''), is a Swedish association that promotes film in artistic, cultural, and technical terms. It is located in Stockholm, and awards the annual Kurt Linder Scholarship to young filmmakers who have made significant contributions to the Swedish film industry. Scholarship
A scholarship is a form of financial aid awarded to students for further education. Generally, scholarships are awarded based on a set of criteria such as academic merit, diversity and inclusion, athletic skill, and financial need. Gösta Werner (May 15, 1908 – July 20, 2009) was a Swedish film director. He was married to Kaj Björkdahl. He primarily made his mark on European cinema during the 1940s. During the 1970s, Werner was first associate professor at Stockholm University, and then later Professor of Cinematography. He was born in Östra Wemmenhög, Skåne, Sweden. Werner turned 101 years old on May 15, 2009. Werner died in Stockholm on July 20, 2009. He was, at the time of his death, the world's oldest film director. Eyvind Johnson
Eyvind Johnson (29 July 1900 – 25 August 1976) was a Swedish novelist and short story writer. Regarded as the most groundbreaking novelist in modern Swedish literature he became a member of the Swedish Academy in 1957 and shared the 1974 Nobel Prize in Literature with Harry Martinson with the citation: ''for a narrative art, far-seeing in lands and ages, in the service of freedom''. Biography Johnson was born Olof Edvin Verner Jonsson in Svartbjörnsbyn village in Överluleå parish, near the town of Boden in Norrbotten. Sweden, Swedish film, cinema is known for including many acclaimed films; during the 20th century the industry was the most prominent of Scandinavia. Gustaf Harald August Molander (18 November 1888 – 19 June 1973) was a Sweden, Swedish actor and film director. His parents were director Harald Molander, Sr. (1858–1900) and singer and actress Lydia Molander, ''née'' Wessler, and his brother was the director Olof Molander (1892–1966). He was the father of director and producer Harald Molander from his first marriage to actress Karin Molander and father to actor Jan Molander from his second marriage to Elsa Fahlberg (1892–1977).
