Kurt Kjellström
Kurt Kjellström (19 March 1921 – 10 December 1965) was a Swedish ice hockey, football and bandy player, best known for representing Hammarby IF in all three sports. In 2012, Kjellström was posthumously inducted into the Swedish Hockey Hall of Fame. Early life Kjellström was born in Stockholm and started to play ice hockey and football with local clubs Eriksdals IF and Helgalundsklubben as a youngster. Athletic career Ice hockey In 1938–39, Kjellström was promoted to the senior roster of Hammarby IF, in the domestic top division Svenska Serien. The club went on to win the league in an undefeated season, winning all seven matches, but no Swedish champion was crowned due to cold weather. 1938–39 Svenska Serien Season
The fourth season of Svenska Serien, at the time Sweden's top-tier hockey league, was scheduled to be held over the winter of 1938–39, but due to a harsh winter, the series was played as a shortened single-round robin tournament in the autumn of 1939, immediately prior to the start of the 1939–40 season. For this reason, there was no promotion or relegation as a result of this tournament. Hammarby IF went undefeated, winning all seven matches, to win the league title. This was their first time Hammarby finished first-place in Svenska Serien, and the fourth time Hammarby finished first in Sweden's first-tier league (which had previously been Klass I and Elitserien Elitserien (literally, "the Elite League") is the name of several Swedish nationwide sport leagues. Germany Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The German men's national ice hockey team is the national ice hockey team of Germany and is controlled by the German Ice Hockey Federation. It first participated in serious international competition at the 1911 European Hockey Championship. When Germany was split after World War II, a separate East Germany national ice hockey team existed until 1990. The Sweden men's national ice hockey team ( sv, Sveriges herrlandslag i ishockey) is governed by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association. Holger Nurmela
Holger "Hogge" Nurmela (28 October 1920 – 1 March 2005) was a Swedish ice hockey, football and bandy player and manager, known for representing Hammarby IF in all three sports. Athletic career Ice hockey In 1937, Nurmela made his debut for Hammarby IF in Elitserien, Sweden's top tier. He won three Swedish championships – 1942, 1943 and 1945 – with the club. He formed a feared line together with right winger Stig Emanuel Andersson and centre Kurt Kjellström. Nurmela was known as a versatile player with great skating abilities: a sniper, playmaker and grinder combined. He won the scoring league in the Swedish top division in both 1949 and 1950. Stig Emanuel Andersson
Stig Emanuel "Stickan" Andersson (16 October 1914 – 23 March 2000) was a Swedish ice hockey, football and bandy player, known for representing Hammarby IF in all three sports. He competed in the men's hockey tournaments at the 1936 Winter Olympics and the 1948 Winter Olympics. Early life Andersson grew up in a working-class home in a southern part of Stockholm known as Södermalm. His father was working as a groundskeeper at Hammarby Idrottsplats, the home of local club Hammarby IF which he joined as a youngster, together with the likes of Sven Bergqvist. The Swedish ice hockey champions ( sv, Svenska mästare i ishockey) is a title awarded annually to the winning playoff team of the top-tier ice hockey league in Sweden, which currently is the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) since 1975. It was first awarded to IK Göta in 1922, the championship's inaugural year. The championship's present SHL format did not take into effect until the league was originally formed for the 1975–76 season under the name of Elitserien. SC Riessersee
SC Riessersee is a professional ice hockey team based in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Oberbayern, Germany. They currently play in The Oberliga, the third level of ice hockey in Germany. Prior to the 2013–14 season, they played in the 2nd Bundesliga. They play their home games at the ''Olympia-Eissport-Zentrum''. The club is the most historic club in the German professional league being the club with most German championships.
