Kumagai Naozane
(March 24, 1141 – September 27, 1207/October 25, 1208) was a famous soldier who served the Genji (Minamoto) clan during the Heian period of Japanese history. Kumagai is particularly known for his exploits during the Genpei War, specifically for killing the young warrior Taira no Atsumori at the battle of Ichi-no-tani in 1184. Later in life he became a Jōdo-shū Buddhist priest, as a disciple of Hōnen. Atsumori's death and the circumstances surrounding it went on to be fictionalized and retold in numerous forms, including the ''Heike Monogatari'' epic, a number of Noh plays, and in the '' jōruri'' and kabuki theatres as well. Kumagai-shuku
was the eighth of the sixty-nine stations of the Nakasendō highway connecting Edo with Kyoto during the Edo period. It was located in the present-day city of Kuamagaya, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. History Kumagai-shuku began as a temple-town outside the Buddhist temple of , which dated from the Heian period. is a Japanese footballer who plays for German club FC Bayern Munich and the Japan national team. She plays primarily as a defensive midfielder but has also been deployed as a central defender. Noriaki Kumagai
, now known in its fourth iteration as Casiopea-P4, is a Japanese jazz fusion band formed in 1976 by guitarist Issei Noro, bassist Tetsuo Sakurai, drummer Tohru "Rika" Suzuki, and keyboardist Hidehiko Koike. In 1977, keyboardist Minoru Mukaiya and drummer Takashi Sasaki ( ja) joined, replacing Koike and Suzuki. They recorded their debut album ''Casiopea'' (1979) with guest appearances by American jazz musicians Randy Brecker, Michael Brecker, and David Sanborn. In 1980, drummer Akira Jimbo joined the band. Casiopea had released over 40 albums in Japan and around the world. The group suspended all activity in 2006. Starting from 2012, they formed Casiopea 3rd as a spin-off from the original, featuring Kiyomi Otaka on keyboards and returning members, Issei Noro, Akira Jimbo, and Yoshihiro Naruse. was a Japanese photographer and illustrator of books for children, known for his portrayal of rural and school life. He has illustrated numerous children's books, books containing his photography, and other works. His works have won prizes, beginning with a photography prize from the ''Mainichi Shimbun'' in 1955. Mie Kumagai
is a Japanese video game producer. She began working at Sega in 1993 as an amusement park attraction planner and transferred to the arcade division of its AM3 studio two years later. When this studio's boss, Hisao Oguchi, was promoted to president of the whole company in 2003, Kumagai became the new AM3 head and the first ever female president within Sega's development structure or any Japanese development studio.
